Just wanted to show you the products I’ll be keeping in my bridal makeup kit. Since I’ll be leaving right after the wedding, all my other makeup will be packed and I’ll just be keeping a few things for doing my makeup for the functions.
Here are the products that I’ve decided on so far -
Prepping products : MAC Strobe cream for the dry-ish areas of the face, Clinique Pore Refining solutions Instant Perfector (in Invisible Deep) for oily parts and large open pores. I also need another primer here though – maybe Clinique Superprimer – not decided yet!
Foundation : MAC Matchmaster Foundation, Bourjois Happy Light foundation. I haven’t got the time to go foundation hunting again so I’m sticking to my trusted favorite MAC Matchmaster for now until I come across something else. Bourjois Happy Light photographs beautifully though slightly lesser coverage but I make up for that with concealer in the required areas. I think I’ll keep this for everyday wear. I will also keep Clinique Superbalanced Foundation as backup in case my skin is feeling too dry. It photographs quite nicely.
Corrector + Concealer : Clinique Even Better concealer Orange Brightener and Honeycomb.
Powder : Clinique Blended Face Powder is excellent! For touch ups, I’ll probably reach for Lakme Absolute Compact since that’s the one I generally carry with me. Its a decent compact but can be high coverage (and little cakey) if you use too much. I might pick up something else before the wedding though.
Blushes : Chanel Cream blush in Revelation will be my base blush on top of which I’d add a powder blush to ensure longevity. For my pink saree – MAC Fleur Power and for the warmer sarees, I’ll keep MAC Pinch Me and maybe Colorbar Paparazzi Bronze?
Contour + Highlight : Shiseido Powder Bronzer in 03 for Contouring and Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Bronze for highlighting.
Base : MAC Paint Pot Indianwood for gold makeup, Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Stick in Bronze for bronze/coppery makeup and Shiseido Shimmering Cream eye color in Caviar (black) as base for a smokey eye. I might pick up Clinique All About Shadow eye primer too.
Eye shadows : My MAC Palette which has beautiful neutrals – Woodwinked, Amberlights, Bronze, Antiqued, All that Glitters – I think I’m pretty much covered here. I intend to use Inglot 107R rainbow refill for any blending out work, L’Oreal Paris Infallible eye shadow Endless Chocolate for smokier brown looks. For highlighting – Miss Claire eye shadow 0231 (prettiest pale gold!) and MAC Ricepaper.
Mascara and Lashes : Not yet decided on the mascara but since I’ll be using false lashes, I can use pretty much any decent mascara. I’m inclined towards Shiseido Defining Volume one (best dramatic mascara I’ve tried!). At the moment I also have Maybelline Falsies which is good for length but doesn’t give the desired volume.
For the lashes, I’m more or less set on Ardell Naomi lashes which I used in my recent bridal looks HERE and HERE. Perfect length for my long lashes and good volume! They are slightly dramatic but not crazily so and feel very light on the eyes so I can wear them for a few hours. Generally my eyes start watering with false lashes on very quickly but these feel very comfortable. I bought these from Jabong but they’re sold out now!
Brows : Sleek Brow kit in Extra Dark! But if I want to save space, I can also use Rimmel Brow pencil in Black/Brown with Inglot 107R eye shadow instead.
Now this is the hard part because I go little overboard with my lip products!
Lip pencils : They are a MUST-HAVE for me when doing long wearing makeup! I use them to fill in my lips entirely and balance out the shape of my lips before I use a lipstick. I have a red one from Bourjois, MAC Spice [very similar to Lakme Brick Rose which I used in my last tutorial] and a pale nude pink from Bourjois. I’m in dire need to a rose/berry pink. I’m thinking of picking MAC Soar. Any recommendations for a darker pink lip liner?
Lipsticks : NYX Midnight Dinner (very pretty berry pink – wearing it HERE) and Chanel Rouge Allure Romantic for the pink saree, MAC Ruby Woo and MAC Diva for the red saree, haven’t decided on the warmer lipsticks yet. Will also keep 1-2 rosy pink/corals for everyday wear.
Lipglosses : Guerlain Maxi Shine lip gloss – Tangerine Vlam, MAC Impassioned maybe (for pink saree), Rimmel Vinyl Gloss Lovesick (perfect soft pink for me complexion) and probably add 1-2 more but haven’t decided which ones yet.
