The Vineyard Peach range was brought back by The Body Shop on popular consumer demand recently. I hadn’t tried it when it first launched so decided to check it out when it relaunched. I picked up the Body Lotion from the range containing shower gel, body scrub, body butter and body lotion.
Price : Rs 595 for 250 ml
The body lotion comes in a clear plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. Like all TBS bottles, the pump can the rotated to lock it and prevent it accidentally dispensing lotion while traveling etc. The packaging is sturdy and convenient, I really like it. Though I prefer simple squeeze bottles more because its hard to get the last bit of product out from pump bottles when its almost used up.
The peach colored lotion is light weight yet moisturizing enough for mildly dry skin. Its not too runny and absorbs almost completely on massage leaving a hint of dewiness behind. If you have very dry skin, it’ll probably absorb fully. I don’t like the feel of heavy lotions or body butters (my body skin is normal with slight dryness in winters) so this is the perfect consistency for my needs. It has a nice peach scent – its quite pleasant and fresh and if you like fruity scents, you’ll enjoy this. I was hoping it would be a little sweeter (like candies peaches), but I guess its more like natural peaches. What I like the most is that it leaves a faint scent on my clothes sometimes. I tend to use this when I bathe at night before night time and it leaves a very soft scent in my bathrobe/night dress. I’m not crazy about peach scents so I probably won’t repurchase.
But I do like it a lot and it keeps my skin smooth, soft and hydrated for as long as 24 hours till my next shower. If you don’t need heavy duty hydration and like fruity scents, do check this out! If you have very dry skin, go for the body butter instead. My only qualm is that I wish it came with an SPF variant so I wouldn’t have to use another sun protection lotion for the day time!
The GOOD about The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Body Lotion :
- Convenient, hygienic packaging
- Not too runny, nor too thick in consistency
- Non greasy, absorbs on massage
- Hydrating enough for normal to mildly dry skin
- Soft peachy scent, may linger on clothes
- Keeps skin soft and smooth
The NOT-SO-GOOD about The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Body Lotion :
- Need a product with SPF over this during the day
- Wont be hydrating enough for very dry skin (try the body butter instead)
The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Body Lotion has everything one needs from a lotion – its hydrating but not heavy or greasy, it absorbs on massage and has a nice scent that does linger on clothes for a bit. Its perfect for my mildly dry winter skin and I like the fresh peach scent. It keeps the skin soft, smooth and hydrated though if you have very dry skin, I’d recommend you go for the body butter instead. The scent is lovely but I’m not too crazy about peaches so I won’t repurchase.
