Today I’m reviewing the Clinique Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for the eyes ~ Fuller Fudge which is an awesome long wearing, easy to use eye shadow crayon!
Price : Rs 1025 for 3 g
My take on the Product
The Clinique Chubby Stick shadows combine 2 things I love – Clinique Chubby range and eye crayons! These are just the easiest eye shadows to use – its basically a dry-ish cream eye shadow in a crayon twist up packaging. No sharpening, hence no product wastage! The package is exactly like the Chubby lips from outside but inside the tip of the shadow stick is more blunted to suit the eyes. What I don’t like about these is that the stick isn’t very tightly fixed to the base so the entire stick *might* pop out if you’re playing with it. I saw this with the testers in the store as well as my own piece. It doesn’t come out very easily but it might come out especially if you’ve been carrying it around in your bag or something.
The texture is smooth and creamy but its not too soft – it has a bit of stiffness which I think works well. Comparing to the Limited Edition MAC eye crayon, these are little harder, MAC ones were a tad softer. However these aren’t dry to the point that they tug on the eyes. They glide easily enough and are super pigmented. I just apply this all over my lid and use my finger to soften and blend the edges in the socket. It sets into a smudgeproof finish after some time and doesn’t budge. These wear really long – I’ve worn it for as long as 10 hours and there was barely any fading or creasing. Formula overall is excellent (though I wish they were a little softer)! If you’re someone who’s generally pressed for time while getting ready, these are really handy!
Fuller Fudge is a beautiful neutral – its a soft bronzy caramel color, not quite dark enough to be chocolaty but not so light that it won’t show up. I think its a gorgeous color for Indian skin tones in general – just adds a little something to the eyes without being overpowering. It has some shimmer but its quite subtle and understated. I love this color and to be honest, this is the only shade I liked from the range. There were 2 other shades I was looking forward to – Ample Amber and Whopping Willow but these weren’t launched in India.
I’ve applied it all over my lid and along my lower lash line ~
The GOOD about Clinique Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes :
- Twist up crayon packaging – no wastage
- Smooth in texture
- Good pigmentation
- Easy to blend
- Smudgeproof once set
- Extremely long wearing
- Can be used as base for eye shadow
The NOT-SO-GOOD about Clinique Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes :
- Shadow stick isn’t fixed properly to the base
- Texture could be softer/creamier
- Limited shades launched in India!
Clinique Chubby Stick shadows are great for beginners or for women on the go. Just twist up, swipe on the eyes, blend with fingers and you’re sorted for the entire day. The formula is slightly dry-ish but doesn’t tug on the lids, very pigmented and super long wearing. Fuller Fudge is a must-have for this range in my opinion because its just a great color for all skin tones and will go with every lip color – nude or bold. I am a huge fan of the Chubby range in general, of the brand and of eye crayons so I’m a teeny bit disappointed that these weren’t a perfect 5!
