Today I’m reviewing the newest lip crayon in the market, the L’Oreal Paris Glam Shine Lip Crayon – 909 Pomegranate Punch.
Price : Rs 400 (Buy online at Nykaa.com)
My take on the Product
The L’Oreal Paris Glam Shine lip crayon is the newest crayon to join the growing family of lip crayons in the market! But what distinguishes it from the others is the price point. Its priced at Rs 400 which is quite reasonable and you get a lovely product for the price! I am quite surprised though because L’Oreal is one of those brands that almost borders high end when it comes to pricing especially in their lip products.
The packaging is standard – colored twist up crayon packaging. It comes with a silver cap and the tubes are colored according to the shade. There are 4 shades in this range – mostly on the lighter side and I picked up 909 because I prefer more pigmented, darker colors. The product is described as a balmy gloss by L’Oreal and that describes the texture quite well. Its is smooth and glides like a lip balm on the lips giving a juicy finish. Its not too glossy however and has a balmy look. It feels very light weight on the lips, doesn’t sit into the lip lines and barely leaves a stain behind. Its quite pigmented but not fully opaque – but it gives enough color to even out pigmented lips. Pomegranate Punch being the darkest shade wears about 4 hours on me after which is fades. I think the lighter colors will wear lesser.
It is not long wearing since it doesn’t stain but its decently (though not super) moisturizing and I prefer that over long stay. You don’t need to worry about exfoliating/moisturizing lips before wearing this. It applies very uniformly over the lips. This reminds me a lot of the Bourjois Lip crayon – texture and finish wise.
Pomegranate Punch is a reddish berry pink color containing fine pink shimmer. The shimmer is quite understated and doesn’t show much on the lips. It doesn’t sit into lip lines either once the color starts to fade. But its not 100% non-gritty because I feel it a little if I rub my lips together freshly after application. The color will work for many skin tones and you can even blot it with your finger for a softer, stained look. I would definitely recommend this over the colors from this range!
The packaging doesn’t mention the quantity but I twisted it up fully and it seemed the same as the Lakme Absolute Lip tint though the bullet is thicker so it’ll be over 2 g.
The GOOD about L’Oreal Paris Glam Shine Lip Crayon (909) Pomegranate Punch :
- Attractive packaging
- Balm like buttery smooth texture
- Moisturizing and comforting formula
- Highly pigmented
- Feels light weight on the lips
- Decent wear time
- Shimmer is fine and non-gritty
- Excellent price
The NOT-SO-GOOD about L’Oreal Paris Glam Shine Lip Crayon (909) Pomegranate Punch :
- The shimmer could be finer
To sum up, L’Oreal Paris Glam Shine lip crayon is like a highly tinted glossy lip balm – the texture is lovely and quite moisturizing on the lips. It feels light weight and wears about 4 hours but doesn’t leave a heavy stain behind. It wears very evenly and there is no patchiness of color or the fine shimmer. And all this for Rs 400 makes it winner! Pomegranate Punch is the darkest of the 4 shades – the other shades being sheerer and lighter. I love it! Highly recommended!
