Its been sometime since Lakmé Fashion Week Winter Festive ended and while going through the pictures I took backstage, I realized just how many Lakmé products had been used again and again through the 4 Days that I was there. So I compiled a list of the Top 10 Lakmé products that were the most popular ones in the green rooms!
1. Lakmé Absolute Ultimate Kohl
Used extensively every time the look required kohl lined eye or smokey eyes. It also happens to be my favorite kohl because its so intense black and absolutely smudgeproof once it sets! Best kohl ever!
2. Lakmé Absolute Baked Blushes
Day Blushes was the popular pick from this shade backstage. I saw it used everytime the artist wanted to give a soft flush of warm pink to the cheeks. Best part – it works for the paler models as well as the duskier ones! It also happens to be one of my favorite blushes. Another shade I saw being used quite a lot was Night Sheen.
3. Lakmé Absolute Matte Lipstick – Milan Red
Milan Red is a deep burgundy color that goes well with the season trend of a dark, rich red mouth. It was used for the Grand Finale and you can see how decadent it looks with Sabyasachi’s royal collection! It was also used by makeup artist Natasha Nischol during the Lakme Absolute Master class for the Red Lip by Night look.
4. Lakmé Absolute Forever Silk eye liner – Black
This was used for looks that required dramatic liner – on top and bottom lash lines. It is a waterproof, smudge proof liner that is super smooth in texture and gives you a perfect rich black line in a single stroke!
5. Lakmé Absolute Plump & Shine lip glosses
Remember what I mentioned about models having smooth, hydrated looking lips at all times? These are responsible for that! I saw the softer, sheerer shades like Peach Shine, Coral Shine and Rose Shine being used for almost every look to top over the lipsticks – especially where the look had a nude lip!
6. Lakmé 9-to-5 Lipstick : Pink Slip
Pink Slip from the new Office stylist range was super popular for a nude lip! Was used along with the Plump n Shine gloss Rose Shine to for a glossy natural lip. Other shades that I saw being used for nude lips were Tea Break and Peony Goal. Peony Goal was only used on the very fair skinned models while Tea Break worked well for the medium to dusky ones.
7. Lakmé Absolute Sunkissed Bronzer
As I’d mentioned in my Runway secrets post, models never step on the ramp without a generous dusting of body highlighters and illuminating bronzer on every inch of their skin! The Lakme Absolute Sunkissed bronzer was used a lot to warm up and illuminate the body.
8. Lakmé Enrich Lipsticks
Lakme Enrich range is the most extensive lip color range ever! The most popular shades backstage were the deeper colors – bordeaux, deep reds, wine shades. You can spot the lipstick in the model’s hand here.
9. Lakmé Nail Paints
With the addition to the Royal collection and the Gel Stylist, Lakme now has a HUGE range of colors in their nail color range. Nudes and dark red/burgundy nails are generally quite popular on the ramp and I saw this one particular rich wine red being used extensively backstage!
10. Lakmé Absolute Eye shadow duo : Day Shimmer
The 2 warm metallics from this duo are perfect for the Indian skin! These were used to create the soft halo of warmth around the eyes in several looks featuring neutral makeup. I personally love this duo, most recently used it in my Bridal Look.
