Glitter Nails courtesy Lakme Salon | Lakme Fashion Week Winter-Festive 2013

Hey everyone!

Lakme Fashion Week is almost over and my experience there is incomplete without a visit to the Lakme Salon! I got this beautiful nail art done at Lakme Salon at The Source (at Lakme Fashion Week) today. I love glitter nails and I wanted a gold gradient on a neutral base color. Since slightly messy and imperfect beauty is very trendy right now (in hair and makeup), I asked the nail artist to give it a slightly uneven, casual gradient instead of sharp glittery tip.

She translated it on my nails exactly how I wanted and I got loads of compliments today – from the PR girls, from the makeup artists back stage and the models! Glitter nails are catchy and look super glamorous. And they look really festive too!

Lakme has a HUGE range of nail colors and you can pick any nude/peachy/terracotta color for the base depending on your skin tone. I chose the True Wear nail color in #N237. You can also try Lakme Fast and Fabulous Nail paint in Flaming Peach, its quite similar. It would look amazing on a nude like the Gel Stylist – Caramel Melt too!

For the tips, the artist used a gold nail paint on upper half of my nail and just dabbed it instead of painting it very evenly. She then sprinkled some loose gold glitter over it (while still wet). After giving it 2-3 minutes to dry, she sealed the glitter in with a clear top coat. So simple and fabulous! I’m definitely going to try this at home with my pigments!

Tip : Use a cotton bud dipped in nail paint to clean up any mess around the nails. Cuticles can get messy while working with loose glitter!

    1. Hi Surabhi, sorry haven't tried French Manicure. But I think Bourjois has a kit which might be good. Bourjois makes good nail polishes in general!
