Lakmé Fashion Week Winter Festive 2013 Day 2 : Makeup + Backstage Photos

Day 2 of Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive 2013 saw a lot of drama in makeup! Smokey eyes, wine/red lips were seen in abundance and here’s a breakdown of all the Looks ~

My thoughts : A very polished and sophisticated look! The sheen on the eyes adds a softer touch to an otherwise slightly severe look. The strong angular brows are great for the runway but I wouldn’t recommend that look off the ramp!

Designer : Little Shilpa/Soup by Sougat Paul/Anushka Khanna

My thoughts : I loved the use of blue on the eyes in this look. It wasn’t too dramatic so it can easily be worn off the ramp as well.

Look 3 : Metallic smokey eye, Glossy natural/wine lips

Designer : Kommal Sood/Rajat K Tangri

My thoughts : The smokey eye was absolutely gorgeous! The artists created a base with black eye shadow and then added some burgundy sparkle only on the inner half of the lid and lower lash line. A natural lip color (Lakme Aquashine lip color – Passionfruit) was used for the first designer and then changed to a dark wine glossy lip (Lakme Aquashine lip color – Wine) for the second designer. To adapt it off the runway I’d recommend using the sparkle in the center of the lids instead of the inner corners. The glossy natural lip would be more wearable too but if you’re feeling daring, you can try the stunning wine lip too!

Look 4 : Soft eyes, statement berry/burgundy lips

Designer : Sailex/Shehla Khan

My thoughts : I absolute loved the berry lip look! The artists used a dark burgundy lip liner all over the lipstick and topped it with a bright vibrant berry gloss – the end result was a deep plummy berry lip that looked beautiful. I would personally wear this look. For Shehla Khan’s show, the lip color was changed to a matte dark burgundy which looked quite polished and retro. Shehla Khan’s designs were beautiful – ethereal, soft but with a sensuous touch. I think the makeup and the crimped, voluminous hair complemented the outfits beautifully!

Look 5 : Goddess eyes, Royal red lips

Designer : Shantanu Goeka

My thoughts : My favorite look from Day 2! Its a little dramatic but it looked so so amazing. The kohl is slightly exaggerated but can be easily toned down to adapt off the runway. What I loved was the golden bronzed skin and the glossy intense red lip. See the breakdown of this look in my previous post HERE.

Look 6 : Peacock eyes, Vampy lips

Designer : Rocky Star

My thoughts : This look was certainly adventurous! Clint created a stunning colorful eye using blue liners, pigments and aquamarine sparkle. I spotted Lakme Glide On eye pencil (Metallic Black) and Lakme Absolute Forever Silk eye liner (Jaded Mint) being used to create this look. The lip color used for this look is Lakme Enrich Satin lipstick #48.

  1. You looked lovely but I’d skip the neck piece.

Do you know which products were used for the Charcoal blue look and also for the burgundy lips?
