Today I’m reviewing a beautiful lip gloss from Guerlain. I wore this in one of my recent FOTDs and I’ve been wearing this a lot since the past month. These are available in 20 gorgeous shades and I loved this so much that I bought another shade from the Gloss D’Enfer range. Read on to know why..
Price : Rs 1750 for 7.5 ml
My take on the Product
I love the packaging of the gloss. It feels slightly heavy in the hand but in a nice, luxury-packaging kind of way. It comes with a flat sponge tipped applicator. Because the applicator is long (but not too broad), you can apply the product in a single swipe on the lips. I love the golden engraving ‘Guerlain’ on the tube!
The texture of this gloss is beautiful – it feels very light and non-sticky on the lips. It doesn’t get tacky over time as it wears and remains just as comfortable on the lips. It has about medium pigmentation so it doesn’t give full cover but enough color to even out pigmentation. You can layer the color for more intensity. The translucence allows a bit of the natural lip color to peek through and that gives a very fresh look to the face. I love how hydrating this! When applied on dry lips, it gives a instant boost of moisture within a couple of minutes of application so I end up using this a lot instead of a chapstick. Despite being light and non-sticky, it wears decently well on my lips. I get about 3.5-4 hours of wear with mild snacking/sips of drinks in between which is quite good for a lip gloss. It leaves a very mild stain once the glossiness wears off but doesn’t stain the lips heavily. The gloss has a very faint floral scent but only detectable if you’re sniffing the tube looking to find a scent!
When I saw the tube, I could see a load of gold shimmer glimmering through the glass and I thought I might not like it so much. But surprisingly the shimmer is really fine and absolutely non-gritty. I do not like shimmer in my lip products especially the kind that you can feel when you rub your lips together. In this case, I can’t really feel the shimmer on the lips though I can see it if I look really closely. The shimmer doesn’t move around beyond the lip line once the color has faded but a tiny bit does stay on the lips. It doesn’t get settled into lip lines though so its not annoying.
Shade 441 Tangerine Vlam is true tangerine color containing a good sprinkling of gold shimmer. The gold shimmer adds a little boost to the wet juicy shine it adds to the lips. Because of its sheer texture, the color doesn’t look overpowering and is very easy to wear. I think it looks particularly beautiful with a hint of bronzer on the cheeks – perfect for the summers! It’ll look great on warm complexions and is sheer enough to work well with cooler skin tones as well.
I really like the fact that you get 7.5 ml of product in the tube. Its definitely a luxury buy but you get excellent quality and loads of product for the price!

The NOT-SO-GOOD about Guerlain Gloss D’Enfer Maxi Shine 441 Tangerine Vlam :
- The shimmer does get left behind once the color has worn off
Guerlain Gloss D’Enfer Maxi Shine lip gloss is simply one of the best lip glosses I’ve used. The formula is light weight, very hydrating, non sticky and despite being sheer – wears quite well. It just feels effortless on the lips! 441 Tangerine Vlam is a sheer tangerine color with loads of gold shimmer. The shimmer is fine and non-gritty and even though it does stay behind once the color has worn off, it doesn’t cling to the lip lines. The color looks quite fresh and perks up my complexion really well. Highly recommended!
