Hi everyone!
Recently a reader commented that my hair had been growing quite fast, requesting a hair care routine post. I’ve actually been having trouble with my hair since the past 2 months – major problem being hair fall. My hair fall had reduced a lot earlier this year when I had incorporated lots of protein in my diet and switched to SLS/Silicone free shampoo and conditioner (Organic Surge).
But sometime after May, I wasn’t being regular with my protein intake and also tried some random shampoos which started causing pretty heavy hair fall. I realized the diet part sometime last month and have been consciously trying to eat egg whites and daal every day and it has helped a little bit though these things take time to show. I’m liking the MoroccanOil products which I’ve been using from past 2 weeks ~

I attended an event by MoroccanOil few months back and I received a press kit containing a shampoo/conditoner, the classic Moroccanoil treatment (oil) and a Hydrating Mask. Before this event, I didn’t even know that Moroccanoil had so many products! I was only aware of the treatment oil serum which I’d been planning to buy once my Kerastase Elixir Ultime got over.
For those who aren’t familiar with this brand, here’s a little brief –
Our story began when our co-founder, Carmen Tal, was traveling in Israel. After a color service that left her hair badly damaged, a friend brought her to a salon where she experienced an astonishing oil treatment. The result was that her hair instantly transformed from damaged to shiny, smooth and manageable.
Inspired by the incredible results, Carmen set out to share this unique oil treatment and its benefits with women around the world. At the time, oil treatments were unconventional for hair but Carmen was undeterred by this obstacle. She and her husband teamed up with a group of visionaries to perfect this amazing formula. The result – they introduced Moroccanoil to the world.
Moroccanoil has become a haircare industry sensation embraced by celebrities, runway stylists and women the world over. At the core of our success is quality. We have perfected the Moroccanoil Treatment and extended the line to include solutions for every hair need. Our formulas not only leave hair naturally smooth and shiny but also improve its actual condition to make it stronger with each use. We are proud to have created a new hair care category and, even as we grow, to always remain unique in our industry.

– Vivanta by Taj President (CUFF PARADE)
– Taj Salon at Colaba
– The Taj Salon at Bandra
– Savio John Pereira
PRODUCTS I’m USING CURRENTLY –
– Moroccanoil moisture repair shampoo
– Moroccanoil moisture repair conditioner
– Moroccanoil treatment (oil serum)
– Moroccanoil Intense Hydrating Mask

I love the scent of the products and they make my hair quite soft and manageable. I do need the oil serum to tame the frizz, the conditioner isn’t enough especially during the monsoons where my hair gets extremely frizzy because of the humidity. The oil serum (which is just named ‘Treatment‘ by the brand but I’m calling it oil serum to avoid confusion) is slightly thick (there is a light variant available) but since I have dry hair, it doesn’t feel heavy to me. Its great to use before heat styling especially ironing, it makes the iron glide through the hair more easily. I’ll review the products once I’ve used them for at least 2 weeks more.
Moroccanoil products are free from sulphate-phosphate and paraben free. I’m liking what I’ve used so far and I’m looking forward to trying out more from the brand. At the event, Antonio who is the Creative Director and lead Stylist for the brand, talked about his favorite products from the brand and the 2 products that caught my eye were the Shine Spray and the Luminous Hair Spray. They add shine and hold to the hair without weighing it down or making it ‘crunchy’. I’m definitely trying these out once my current styling products get over!
Have you tried MoroccanOil products?

Hi Ankita! I wanted to inform you about this earlier but due to internet problems I wasn’t able too! I’ve spotted 2 Deborah Milano counters:-one at Lifestyle in Phoenix Market City (Kurla) and one at Shoppers Stop in Nirmal Lifestyle(Mulund). Personally I feel that the latter is more new and more well-stocked. I’ve shopped from both counters though! Hope this helped 🙂
Thank you so much Prerna! I haven’t been that side in ages. I generally shop from Malad/Andheri.
Oh god the box looks lovely. A bit pricey for a shampoo and conditioner I’d say. The rest are quite exciting.
I use the moroccan treatment oil regularly. I love it 🙂 The bag looks super cute!
Want to give this range a try!
Hi ankita,
Thank you!. You know i was experiencing hair fall as well. I tried the Trichup anti hair fall oil and trichup hair nourishing capsules- readily available in india….that has completely halted and stopped my hair fall. Do take it into consideration.

Hi Amrita, MoroccanOil is available in most reputed salons these days. I'd recommend you check out some salons in South Mumbai.
Hi. Are the Moroccan hair products available in smaller sizes or samples?
Hi, I'm not sure but I don't think they have samples. They might have travel size packaging though.
Hello Corallista, I am experiencing more hair fall a year now, I lost.my density though not gone bald lol!. I was at EA Naturals Salon Chennai for hair cut two days before during that time i have been suggested by an expert regarding Moroccan oil. I am eager to use the product. Can you please help me to give a brief details of the serum(oil).
