Fun Saturdays Vol. 41 : 5 Random Things

1. Your favorite past time as a child?

Reading! I don’t recall how early I started but by 4th-5th standard, I was hooked to Enid Blyton‘s Secret Seven and Malory Towers. I loved reading Nancy Drew and Trixie Belden as well. I would actually get my classmates who weren’t interested in reading to issue books I wanted from the school library (because everyone had to issue 1 book every week) so that I had more than 1 book to read every week!

2. Which place would you like to travel to?

Europe! Culture, couture, scenery – it has everything!

Suppose you were on a trip and your makeup bag is lost/stolen, what products would you buy? (Mention <=10 products to keep it short!)

I’d want to buy all the basic things so that I can do my full makeup – (1) MAC Matchmaster Foundation (2) MAC Pro long wear concealer NC 42 (3) Clinique Chubby Stick balm Chunky Cherry (4) Revlon Colorburst lipstick Soft Rose (5) MAC Fleur Power blush (6) Lakme Absolute Ultimate Kohl (7) Rimmel Stay Matte Powder (8) MAC eye shadow All that Glitters (9) L’Oreal Infallible eye shadow Endless Chocolate (10) L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes Mascara.

4. What are your favorite places to shop?

I love Hill Road and Linking Road in Bandra for street shopping. You can find such stunning jewelry there for pretty low prices. I’ve picked up almost all of my statement neck pieces from there. For makeup, I love shopping at Shoppers’ Stop and Parcos – they have a good mix of mid range and high end brands. For clothing, I like Westside, Shoppers Stop and Marks & Spencer. Favorite malls are Inorbit and Infiniti  in Malad!

5. Your most trusted home remedy?

I always have a jar of aloe vera in my refrigerator! I don’t use it as much as I used to but no matter the issue – breakouts, waxing/threading rash, sun-burn, dehydration – aloe vera works wonders for me! There was a time when I used to use it everyday at night and it really calmed my skin.

  9. 1. Your favorite past time as a child?
Still a teenager (I’m 19), but as a child I loved reading. I started with Harry Potter in 4th grade, then Enid Blyton in 6th grade and moved to Dan Brown, Sidney Sheldon and crime thrillers by 9th grade. My school library had only Enid Blyton and kiddie books in the reading section, but I knew the good books HAD to be somewhere, so I used to hang out at the lib after hours “sorting books” out in the search for new ones. LOL

    2. Which place would you like to travel to?
Europe, baby. It’s just so beautiful! Spain in particular. I love the Spanish accent and I find Spanish men really hot. 😀

    3. Your makeup bag is stolen, what would you purchase?
I’d purchase the things to replace my lost stuff, that’d be: Elle 18 kajal (for darkening my brows), Revlon Colorstay Eyepencil, Lakme Absolute Felt-tip eyeliner, Revlon Lipbutter Candy Apple, Maybelline Hypnose Vibrating Mascara, Neutrogena Lipbalm, Faces black eyeshadow, Lakme Compact powder, Colorbar lip pencil Creamy Nude, and a set of makeup brushes.

Marks & Spencer. During sale season. 😛 and stores in general like Shoppers’ Stop, Lifestyle, Pantaloons, etc stuff in malls. Oh and street shopping of course!!

    5. Your most trusted home remedy?
Haven’t tried many yet, as of now it is hot hair oil massage with olive oil+ coconut oil and towel wrap.

  10. 1. Your favorite past time as a child?: Daydreaming. I had a great imagination (still do) and I would make up the most fantastic stories.

    2. Which place would you like to travel to?: North African and West Africa. Also, India!

    3. Your makeup bag is stolen, what would you purchase?: Firstly I would beat the daylights out of the person who stole it. 😛 Then I would repurchase Benefit Boi-ng Concealer in 04 and get a mattifying powder. I use MAC Blot Powder but I would try for a cheaper powder.

    4. What are your favorite places to shop?: Ebay and Amazon for used clothing, cheaper makeup and reduced price items. I like Macy’s and TJ Maxx for clothes, Sephora for makeup and DSW for shoes. I also like American drugstores for sales on makeup and skincare products.

    5. Your most trusted home remedy?: A cure for the common cold: Mix one egg yolk with honey in a cup. Boil some milk on the stove. As it simmers add some crushed black pepper to the milk. Pour the boiling mixture into the egg/honey mix. Stir and drink while hot.
