Ingredient List ~
My take on the Product
The foundation comes in a frosted glass bottle with a silver screw on cap. There is no stopper or any dispenser of any kind – the mouth of the bottle gets messy and one has to be careful while ‘pouring’ out the foundation. I wish the mouth was narrower like a nozzle (like the Clinique Anti-Blemish solutions foundation) or the bottle had a pump dispenser. On the upside though, you can always pour back the excess into the bottle.
The consistency of the foundation is on the thinner side – its not runny but its not thick/creamy either. It spreads beautifully onto the skin with brush or fingers and it easy to blend. Because its meant for normal to oily skin – it has a moisturizing as well as an oil control component. It gives medium coverage but it feels much lighter on the skin because of the thinner consistency. In comparison, MAC Face and Body is more watery and thinner while MAC Matchmaster is thicker. I find the coverage sufficient for my face – it evens out the redness due to breakouts very well and brightens up dull/sallow areas. I only need concealer for my under eyes and for individual spots/blemishes if I have any at the moment.
It has a dewy finish but it doesn’t feel heavy or greasy on my oily skin because its so thin and light weight. I don’t feel like I’m wearing a heavy layer of makeup on my face. I love how healthy and glowy it makes my skin look! I think it also minimizes the look of open pores slightly giving a slightly smoother, more flawless look to the skin. As far as oil control goes, its not great at controlling shine but nothing a few touch ups can’t take care of. I generally see a hint of shine around my nose after 3-3.5 hours of wear. Blotting with a tissue followed up my compact takes care of that. It wears well over the entire day – the only issue being slight oiliness in the T-zone. I’ve worn it for about 9-10 hours with 2 touch ups with blotting sheets in between and my face looked quite nice and fresh. I don’t think this is a foundation I’d reach for in hot, humid summer months [I'd go for something matte] but for the rest for the year when the weather isn’t that hot and my skin is not super oily, my skin would love this foundation! I think it’ll work very well for all skin types except excessively oily skin.
One of the upsides (for me!) is that it doesn’t contain SPF so its great for photography! There is no whitish cast on the skin in flash photography and the skin just looks gorgeous, healthy and glowing. This makes it quite versatile and ideal for special occasions/evening parties. If you intend to wear this in the day however, don’t forget to wear a broad spectrum sunscreen underneath.
For your reference, I wear shade C4 in MAC Face and Body (slightly warmer for me but works!), shade 3.0 in MAC Matchmaster (slightly lighter but adjusts to my skin tone). 05 Vanilla in Clinique Super Balanced is the best shade match for my skin tone right now. About 2 years back I’d bought Clinique Anti-Blemish solutions Liquid makeup in shade 04 Fresh Vanilla which matched at the time but seems a little light for me now. I have oily, acne prone skin, more combination in winters and particularly troublesome in summers. I tend to break out easily (but not heavily) but I can always rely on Clinique foundations on bad skin days. They are fragrance-free and allergy tested and work well for sensitive skin.

The GOOD about Clinique Super Balanced Makeup (Foundation) :
- Thin consistency – easy to blend
- Gives a healthy, dewy finish
- Feels very light weight on the skin
- Gives medium coverage
- Suitable for all skin types
- Wears well through the day
- Did not irritate my skin
- No SPF, photographs very well
- Oil free, fragrance free, allergy tested
The NOT-SO-GOOD about Clinique Super Balanced Makeup (Foundation) :
- Does not control oil that well
Clinique Super Balanced Makeup is a beautiful foundation that has a thin consistency and feels very light on the skin, while giving natural medium coverage and a healthy, dewy finish. I love how naturally glow-y my skin looks every time I put this on and it has become one of my favorite foundations! The formula is great for combination/normal to oily skin but I can see it working for dry skin types as well. The only minor issue I have with this is that it doesn’t offer very good oil control so blotting is required every few hours if you have oily skin like me. Nonetheless, I love this foundation and I’d recommend it!
