I’d given you a preview of the Rimmel London Kate Moss lipsticks few days back. Here’s the review of shade #19 which is a great neutral color for everyday wear.
Price : Rs 215
My take on the Product
The Kate Moss lipsticks come in a black matte finish packaging and have her signature on the tube which adds a nice touch. Compared to lipsticks like Maybelline Moisture Extreme/Colorbar Velvet Matte – which are in the same price bracket, I like the Rimmel Kate Moss packaging the best! Despite being such a budget friendly product, the packaging is not flimsy or tacky. Swivel mechanism is perfectly smooth and the ends of the tube are colored so these can be stored upside down.
The texture of the lipstick is fairly smooth and soft. Its not buttery smooth but its not dry either. Pigmentation is excellent, it gives true color in single swipe. The lipstick doesn’t feather or bleed after application. The finish is creamy but not glossy and the staying power is around 4 hours. I didn’t find the formula outstanding in any way. Its average and wearable but nothing great in terms of texture, longevity or moisturization. It wasn’t moisturizing but it wasn’t drying either. I have tried the shade Cutting Edge from the regular Lasting Finish range and I feel that it is slightly more moisturizing and smoother in texture compared to the Kate Moss lipsticks.
Because these have been quite hyped up and perennially sold out, I was expecting something more. But its just an average good lipstick with no glaring flaws, great for the pocket though if you’re on a budget. I don’t see myself purchasing any more of these shades.
Shade #19 is a nice neutral color with a mix of warm pink and brown. Its a great everyday wear shade for fair to medium skin tones and the underlying brown tone makes it a natural color for Indian complexions. It would make a great office wear shade.
Looks much pinker (cooler) on me than how it looks in the tube –
The GOOD about Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Moss no. 19 :
- Good packaging
- Smooth texture
- Good pigmentation
- Decent staying power
- Not drying on the lips
- Very affordable
The NOT-SO-GOOD about Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Moss no. 19 :
- Could be more moisturizing
While the Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Moss lipstick offer a good deal at Rs 215, its an average lipstick with no glaring flaws. The texture is reasonably smooth, the pigmentation and staying power is decent and they don’t dry out the lips. If you’re on a budget, you might want to try these out but I don’t think I’d be repurchasing these. With all the hype surrounding these lipsticks in the past few months, I’m *slightly* disappointed!
