My take on the Product
The product comes in a huge grapefruit colored plastic tub! I really like the color and vintage vibe of the packaging!
The texture of the body butter is thick but its not thick to the point of being waxy. It spreads well though I feel it spreads and absorbs much better on slightly damp skin. You don’t need too much massage and it doesn’t leave the skin sticky (I have normal skin on the body – neither dry nor oily) as long as you don’t use too much product. It moisturizes the skin really well and the effect actually stays for the entire 24 hours till your next shower. Because I don’t have dry skin, I do feel like I’ve applied something for maybe an hour after application but after that it completely sinks in. It makes my skin really soft and smooth.
Coming to the exciting part – the fragrance! Its got a soft fruity scent – its not sweet neither is it citrus-y. Its just a very different fruity scent than I’m used to. The first time I smelt it, guavas popped into my mind. The scent is not overpowering or heady and doesn’t really linger for long. But during application and maybe a few minutes after, you do get a soft and fresh envelope of scent on the skin. The description lists orange, peppermint and fig – but i don’t detect any of those in dominance in the scent. I may be mistaking fig for the guava – because it doesn’t really smell like guava! I don’t LOVE the scent but I do like it. I enjoy using this but I don’t think I’ll repurchase it!
The GOOD about Soap & Glory Butter Yourself Super Rich Smoothing Body Cream :
- Attractive packaging
- Thick but not waxy texture – easy to spread and massage
- Don’t leave my normal skin sticky or too buttered up
- Makes the skin really soft and smooth
- Has a lasting effect on the skin
- Has a refreshing fruity scent!
The NOT-SO-GOOD about Soap & Glory Butter Yourself Super Rich Smoothing Body Cream :
- I like the scent but its not repurchase material (For me!)
Overall, its a nice body cream that I like using this everyday after my shower – it smells nice and (different) fruity, its not too heavy but sufficiently moisturizing and leaves the skin quite soft and smooth. And you get a LOT of quantity in the tub! I think it’ll work well for normal to dry skin types.
