My take on the Product
I was expecting more dramatic results when I picked up this mascara based on a couple of reviews I’d read. Its not as dramatic as the Volume Million Lashes (also by L’Oreal) but I’ve begun to love the soft, fluttery look this one gives!
It comes in a long asymmetrical blue and silver tube. The wand is tapered and slightly bent. Its thin and not too dense so if you have really small lashes or are doing your bottom lashes, it won’t smudge all over the skin. The slight angle in the wand helps particularly when I’m doing the outer most lashes. The wand coats the lashes evenly without clumping and I love that about this mascara!
I have pretty dense lashes and its not easy to find mascaras that don’t clump my lashes together. Even some of my favorite mascaras that give immense volume are not effortless to apply. I generally need to go back in with a clean mascara brush or something to separate my lashes. But this mascara does a wonderful job of separating my lashes and giving them a beautiful defined look without clumping!
The formula is neither too wet nor too dry (like Colorbar mascaras) and is waterproof. It doesn’t give a lot of volume but it gives a very soft and feathery look to the lashes that works best with softer eye makeup. If I’m doing a smokey eye, I’d probably want to use something that gives more drama but when I’m not wearing any liner or eye shadow, I like a soft natural look and this is perfect for that. It took me a while to start liking this mascara and now its my go-to day time mascara. It probably won’t get people wondering about your amazing lashes but it will define the lashes, add some soft volume + length and open up the eyes. Before I tried this mascara, drama and volume was the only thing I wanted from a mascara but this gives such a pretty fluttery look to my lashes that I’ve started wearing softer looks for the day time when I’m headed out.
Another lovely thing about this mascara is that it doesn’t weigh the lashes down and doesn’t make them stiff. The lashes feel soft and feathery to touch while looking nicely defined and enhanced. You can tell I really like this mascara even though its not the kind I normally go for!
The GOOD about L’Oreal Paris Lash Architect 4D Mascara :
– Thin, bent wand coats lashes evenly
– Easy to reach smaller, thinner lashes
– Formula is neither too dry nor too wet
– Doesn’t clump the lashes
– Gives a soft, fluttery look
– Adds some length + volume, defines well
– Doesn’t weight the lashes down
– Feels soft and light on the eyes
The NOT-SO-GOOD about L’Oreal Paris Lash Architect 4D Mascara :
– Doesn’t give a lot of volume or length (4D?)
If you’re looking for an easy wear, soft looking mascara that doesn’t clump or weigh the lashes down, do give this a try! The formula is waterproof, not too wet or dry and the thin, bent wand makes it easy to reach the smaller, thinner lashes. While the Volume Million Lashes remains an all time favorite, this mascara has found its way to my day time makeup routine! Its separates, defines and enhances my lashes in a subtle yet very flattering way. I love wearing this with just a wash of gold eye shadow on the lids.
