Today I’m reviewing a gorgeous pink lipstick from Maxfactor’s Color Elixir range ~ no. 665 Pomegranate. I received this lipstick with my April Vellvette box and I’ve been loving this shade the past few days!

My take on the Product
The Maxfactor lipstick comes in a luxe gold packaging with a colored end. The colored bottom makes it easy to locate the shades, especially if you store your lipsticks upside down. It doesn’t feel heavy like high end lipsticks since its not actually metallic but plastic packaging but I still feel it looks quite nice.
The texture of this lipstick is amazing – its soft without being crumbly and so so smooth! It glides on the lips like butter and delivers rich color in a single swipe. I absolutely love the texture of this lipstick! Some creamy lipsticks like NYX Round lipsticks tend to get uneven and patchy since they are too buttery but this one doesn’t. It wears beautifully for a long time since the pigment is quite strong and staining. It has a soft creamy finish and a moisturizing formula. It easily wears for 4-5 hours on me and then stains my lips a deep hot pink that stays till taken off with a makeup remover. The lips feel soft and supple for hours after application. There are no bleeding/feathering of the lip color. This is probably one of the best lipstick formulas I’ve tried and I cannot say enough good things about it! Its everything I love in lipsticks – smooth buttery texture, rich pigment, moisturizing formula and long wear time!
Pomegranate is a plummy pink color with warm undertones. As the color fades, it gives a deep hot pink stain to my lips – a color I find very flattering on myself. Its a very wearable color for a variety of skin tones and I think it’ll look good on a lot of complexions. Its not too in-your-face bright but vibrant enough to add life and color to the face.
The GOOD about Maxfactor Color Elixir Lipstick 665 Pomegranate :
- Luxurious looking packaging with colored end
- Soft, creamy texture
- Excellent pigmentation
- Long wearing without being drying
- Stains the lips
- Doesn’t feather/bleed
- Flattering, versatile color
The NOT-SO-GOOD about Maxfactor Color Elixir Lipstick 665 Pomegranate :
Maxfactor Color Elixir lipsticks are amazing and can easily give high end lipsticks a run for their money. They have everything I love about lipsticks – smooth buttery texture, rich pigment, moisturizing formula and long wear time! Despite having the most delightfully smooth texture, these do not bleed or melt in the tube and do not get uneven or patchy on the lips. If you love richly pigmented lipsticks, you should definitely try at least 1 shade from this range! Pomegranate is a lovely plummy warm pink color which transforms to a deep hot pink as it wears and stains. I love the color for summer! Highly recommended!
