My take on the Product
This was my first purchase from The Body Shop a few years ago. I went in one day to the TBS store and I loved how this smelt and bought it! I used it so sparingly because it felt quite expensive for a bath product when my usual bath product were shower gels from Lux/Fiama di Wills. This was my special occasion bath indulgence in college!
When I moved out of my hostel last year, this got buried somewhere in my stash during the shifting and I only remembered last week that I had this. I have a little confession to make here. The product expired 2 months ago but I couldn’t just throw it in the trash, the tube was barely 25% used! I smelt it, it smelled just as beautiful as ever and then I did a patch test on my arm. I didn’t experience adverse reaction so I decided to go ahead and use it. I don’t advocate using expired beauty products but I just couldn’t resist this.
The body polish comes in a flip-open transparent tube that allows the red color of the gel scrub to show through. The texture is slightly on the thicker side and contains walnut shell bits+kiwi seeds as exfoliating particles. It foams a little with water but not too much. The scrubbing particles are not harsh on the skin and do a decent job of exfoliation. What is lovely about this body polish is the scent! It smells better than fresh strawberries in my opinion! Its fruity and slightly sweet though not in a heady cloying way. I absolute love this scent! The best part is that is stays for some time, not heavily clinging to the skin but just a soft hint of it. I’d say it lingers for maybe an hour to two, not longer. It washes off easily with water without leaving any residue behind. Leaves the skin fresh, smooth and cleansed. If you have dry skin, you would feel the need to moisturize afterwards.
You don’t need to use a lot of product and the scrub particles are quite nicely integrated into the gel formula. So there is no product wastage due to fall off like I experienced with the Nyassa Belgian Chocolate Scrub. If you like fruity scents, strawberry in particular, do give this a try!
The GOOD about The Body Shop Strawberry Body Polish :
- Simple and sturdy packaging
- Tube packaging is hygienic
- Red gel with black exfoliating particles – looks attractive
- Lathers with water
- Granules are not harsh on the skin
- Leaves the skin cleansed, fresh and fragrant
- Smells like strawberries – very refreshing!
- Doesn’t dry the skin
The NOT-SO-GOOD about The Body Shop Strawberry Body Polish :
- Nothing! (Unless you don’t like the scent which is a matter of personal preference)
The Body Shop Strawberry Body Polish is a gel based body scrub that has gentle exfoliating bits and a lovely scent! The body polish leaves the skin cleansed, fresh and lightly fragrant. The scent is not too strong and lingers softly for a while. If you like fruity scents, strawberry in particular, you should definitely give this a try!
