MAC Makeup Look ~ Betty by Day, Veronica by Night | Which Archie’s Girl are you?

Which Archie’s Girl are you?I’d like to be Betty in spirit and Veronica in style. But why choose 1 when one can be Sweet Betty by Day and Bold Veronica by night. Here are the looks I created  ~ my adaptation of Betty and Veronica, using MAC products.

My Sweet Betty Look

For the Betty Look, I applied a wash of silvery pistachio green all over the eyes, winged liner and mascara. Applied a generous amount of coral blush on the cheeks and paired it with a coordinating glossy coral lip. I’m generally one for dramatic looks but I loved how this look turned out! See the list of MAC products used below ~

1. MAC Pistachio Green metallic pigment (LE – From Surf Baby Collection)

For this look, you can use the pigment Lucky in Love from MAC Archie’s Girls collection, its a similar shade.

2 & 3. MAC Blushes ‘Melba’ and ‘Fleur Power’ (from Permanent range)

I layered the 2 blushes to get the look. You can use Pearlmatte Face Powder in Flatter Me (Betty’s color) from MAC Archie’s Girls collection here.

4. MAC Cremesheen lipstick ‘Crosswires’ (from Permanent range)

I love Crosswires! Its such a pretty coral. You can use the lipstick Betty Bright from MAC Archie’s Girls collection here.

5. MAC Lipglass ‘Summer Sweetheart’ (from MAC Archie’s Girls collection)

Lastly, I used a soft peach gloss from the collection itself to finish my Betty Look!

 My Bold Veronica Look

Inspired by the red and violet palette for Veronica from the Archie’s Girls collection, I created a shimmery purple smokey eye and paired it with a deep crimson lip. Very Veronica! MAC Smolder eye kohl was the key in creating this intense eye! See the list of products used below ~

1. MAC Smolder eye kohl (from Permanent range)

Smolder is THE product to use if you want to create smokey eyes. The rich black pigment smudges easily to create the smokey look!

2. MAC Mineralize eye shadow Young Punk (LE- Mineralize shades for 2012)

I used this mineralize range product to add some shimmer to the lids. Layered it over the matte purple eye shadow (no. 3 below).

3. MAC eye shadow Shock-a-holic (LE – Fall Color collection)

I love this matte intense purple color! Applied a wash of it over smudged Smolder kohl and then added the mineralize eye shadow over it to glam it up. Also used it along lower lash line. You can use the quad Spoiled Rich from MAC Archie’s girls collection along with Pearlglide liner Designer Purple to get this look.

4. MAC Pro long wear blush Whole Lotta Love (LE – Office Hours collection)

I love this bright matte pink blush! I used it very sparingly just to add a whisper of color to my cheeks. You can use Pearlmatte face powder in Veronica’s Blush from MAC Archie’s girls collection here.

5. MAC Lipstick Ronnie Red (from MAC Archie’s Girls collection)

Lastly, I used the gorgeous crimson red lipstick from the collection itself to create the red lip for my Veronica look!

For both the Looks, I used MAC Matchmaster Foundation in 3.0 with MAC Studio Careblend Pressed Powder in Light. Also used MAC Ricepaper eye shadow as browbone and inner corner highlight for both looks.

I had so much fun creating this looks! I hope you enjoyed this post! The MAC Archie’s Girls collection will be in stores 25th April onwards. Which products will you be picking?

  1. Both the looks are simply Woww!!! I really love the purple eye makeup..
Even though I love the Veronica look, I’d go with Betty. I’m not quite confident with bold makeup..
You’re totally rocking the looks.. If there were an Archie’s movie to be made, you’d get the role of Veronica for sure 😀

        1. Unfortunately MAC doesn’t retail online in India.

You could ask a friend or relative in another city to pick up something for you.

  2. GORGEOUS!!! Both the looks are lovely and seem easy enough to do but you are TOTALLY ROCKING the Veronica look!
I guess I’ll have to splurge on Ronnie Red now! 😉

    1. Ronnie Red is such a great shade! And looks awesome with purples and blues (though I’ve used purple only here being biased :P)

      1. Ohh yes yes, totally …I just loved it using it…i use to carry it everywhere…it easily slip into my hand bag 🙂 thank you for such a lovely gift ! <3

  3. Ankita you’ve created such gorgeous looks! I really can’t decide which is better, innocent and playfully sexy Betty or that boyfriend stealer Veronica look! ;P
Share with us a tutorial maybe?

  4. both are looks are pretty in their own way.. though u look super cute i the first look n quite glam in the 2nd 😉

  5. Hey ankita u look gorgeous in veronica’s avatar bt Ronnie red lipstick isn’t look so red lil bit fushia I guess im searching fr a red lippie so it is perfect or u’ll suggest any other ?

    1. Hi Nancy, Ronnie Red is a very blue based red. If u’re looking for a true red, try Russian red from MAC. Or Really Red from Revlon matte range.

  6. amazing work! both the looks are so good, but I liked that bold veronica look.. and betty look is really very sweet and soft 🙂

  7. amazing pics…………the 2nd pic of Veronica’s look below the make-up breakdown is my favourite. I lik Veronica’s style (love the Ronie Red shade btw) but I m more lik sweet Betty in real life!

  8. Hi Ankita,

Totally loved both the looks on you. I must say you are very beautiful and there is nothing that doesn’t suit you.

I am planning to buy Ronnie Red and Daddy’s Little Girl. What else do you recommend from this collection… which you think is a must buy

    1. I think Prom Princess blush is pretty great as well! I didn’t particularly love the eye shadow textures so won’t recommend those unless u love the colors (or packaging!). What truly stands out to me are the Pearlglide liners – the colors and textures are lovely. I think the Pearlglides are permanent so you can buy them in the black packaging later also if you want 🙂

  9. Wow! Both the looks are simply fabulous and very wearable too! I can’t decide which one I like more coz they both look so good for different occasions.

  10. hi ankita ! u look sooooo lovely in betty kinda style ! looks soo fresh n ansolutely loved it ! Plz do a video tutorial abt the look ..plssssss !!
even as veronika-Hands down winner ! xxx

  11. I love your pics. You look stunning. Pls continue to take such pics.your blog looks lively and fresh with these new poses.

  12. Hi Ankita,

Thanks for your recommendation. I bought Ronny Red, Daddy Little Girl, Veronica Blush, Veronica Gloss, Strawberry Malt, Eye Pencil in Blue n Purple.

However i am still confused to buy or not Betty Bright lipstick and gloss in Kiss and Don’t Tell. Please help. What do you feel about both the stuff

    1. Hi Anjali, thats quite a haul! I’m not sure about the Betty colors, if you’re medium to dusky in complexion – it might wash you out a bit. You should try it on in the store. If I had to pick 1, I think i’d go with the gloss – its easier to make the color work with glosses by layering lipticks underneath!

  13. Absolutely stunning Ankita!!! I am totally floored by the Veronica look I must say 🙂 You look simply wow girl – whistles!!

Personally though I guess I would feel more at ease with the Betty version, although you sure are making me want to go out of my comfort zone 🙂

  14. hey ankita.. i have been a silent admirer of yours…. you inspired me to start blogging…. i love the betty look on you.. absolutely gorgeous…. but wouldn’t it be better if you tried a matte shadow than the shimmery one??(just an idea) to make it more wearable… amazing looks though…

    1. Thank you Sneha 🙂 When using light pastel shades, I prefer shimmery shades. Very light matte shades can look chalky on the Indian complexion!

  15. I usually come by and go, but this post made me comment.
Both the looks are absolutely spot on… my fav has to be Betty look.

Amazing clicks and you look beautiful 🙂

  16. The second picture and the second-last picture are SO VERONICA. You’ve nailed it, girl! This is one of your best looks. Your Veronica look is so.. vixen and sexy.. Perfect Veronica! 🙂

  17. wow love the looks! love the betty even more!
is there an eyeshadow colour that is similar to the pistachio colour in permanent collection?

  18. Hi Ankita,

    Wow !!
Both the looks are awesome. I tend to favor lighter colors, adore your Betty look. The eye makeup looks great. Tutorial Please !!

    thanks.

  19. WOW! I hit the link from Temptalia to see your look. Just…wow. You have THE most gorgeous green eyes I have ever seen! The pistachio green really makes your eyes pop and the lighter gloss really flatters you. I am definitely more a fan of this look than the bolder Veronica one. You just look classy and stunning in the Betty. You go girl! 🙂
