My review for this gorgeous neon pink lipstick has been long overdue! MAC Party Parrot is a Limited Edition matte finish lipstick which was re-promoted with the Strength Collection.

My take on the Product
MAC Party Parrot lipstick is Limited Edition – earlier seen in the Iris Apfel collection and now again in the Strength Collection.
The lipstick has a matte finish but the texture is amazingly creamy – it hardly feels matte at all! The only way you’d feel its matte is because its not particularly moisturizing and if you have very dry/cracked lips, it would emphasize the cracks and lip lines. The pigmentation is superb and single swipe gives saturated color. The formula is long stay because of the heavily staining pigments but may be prone to slight bleeding since its pretty creamy. It wore about 5-6 hours on me after which the stain remained till removed. The lipstick stains my lips a very deep fuchsia pink and the stain stays till removed with a makeup remover. Being very slick in texture, the lipstick was also prone to a bit of patchiness. I took care of it by patting down the color on my lips with my fingers. Overall, I won’t say I love the formula – it is not an effortless matte like Russian Red for example. It needs a bit of work but its not too troublesome either.
I picked this lipstick just for the shade! Party Parrot is creamy neon coral pink. The color looks more vibrant than what I’d imagined and would look even more vivid on duskier skin tones. But patted down with fingers or blotted with a tissue, the color becomes a bit more wearable. I wouldn’t recommend this shade to anyone who is not used to bright colors. That said, I think its a really fun and pretty shade for summer and I can definitely see myself wearing with a touch of bronzer and hint of candy pink blush!
I think it may be sold out already in most MAC stores but you can watch out for this one in future collections, in case its re-promoted!
The GOOD about MAC Matte Lipstick Party Parrot :
- Creamy texture
- Glides without tugging on the lips
- Very pigmented
- Stays long
- Stains the lips heavily
- Full opaque coverage
- Great color for the summers!
The NOT-SO-GOOD about MAC Matte Lipstick Party Parrot :
- Tends to get patchy when freshly applied
- Not suited for dry lips
MAC Party parrot lipstick is a stunning vivid coral pink semi-matte finish lipstick. The formula is slick and creamy and glides smoothly on the lips without tugging. It is however not moisturizing and it may draw attention to lip lines/cracks. It also tends to get a bit patchy when freshly applied but patting it down with a finger/tissue resolves that. The staying power is phenomenal (6+hours) on account of its heavily staining pigments. The color very bright and perfect for a pop summer lip!
