Its MAC Tuesday and today I have a gorgeous eye shadow for you, a my-lids-but-better shade I’ve been hunting for ages – Veluxe Pearl eye shadow in All that Glitters!

My take on the Product
MAC eye shadows are one of my favorites and I have reviewed quite a few on the blog. Among the different finishes offered by MAC, Veluxe Pearl is one of the best – understated shimmer finish with a buttery smooth pigmented formula! All that Glitters is no exception. It has a soft, smooth texture without being crumbly, the pigmentation is great and it is very easy to blend. The only trouble I have with it is the wear. Generally MAC eye shadows stay very well on me but All That glitters begins creasing in about 3 hours and I definitely need a primer underneath it for long wear. Apart from this, the eye shadow formula is fantastic!
All that Glitters is a beige shade with gold pearl (as described by MAC) and it is the perfect all over lid color for me. I’ve been hunting for a shade like this but most eye shadows I found looked ashy on my skin but not ATG! You can see it looks just like my-lids-but-better on my medium skin tone and adds just the right amount of shimmer. I love LOVE this eye shadow and I can’t believe I didn’t have it till now! I’d recommend it to everyone with a fair/medium complexion. I think it would look great on duskier beauties as well but lighter, not as natural.
There is a lot one can do with this shade – use it alone all over the lid, use it as a highlighter, pair with bronze/brown shades for a smokey eye, use is to blend out and soften darker neutrals. I think it looks fantastic worn all over the lid with dramatic winged liner and loads of mascara – the perfect eye look for a bold lip!

The GOOD about MAC All That Glitters eye shadow :
- Soft, smooth texture
- Excellent pigmentation
- Blends easily
- Great all over lid shade
- Can be used as highlighter on dusky skin
- No fall out
The NOT-SO-GOOD about MAC All That Glitters eye shadow :
- Creases too soon on oily lids without primer
Overall Verdict
MAC All that Glitters eye shadow is a soft beige shade with gold pearl. The shade is beautiful as an all over lid color and would work across skin tones. The Veluxe Pearl formula is excellent in terms of texture and pigmentation but creases too soon on my oily lids without a primer. Apart from the poor wear, it is a fantastic shade and formula, I’d recommend it to everyone looking for a my-lids-but-better shade! Don’t forget to prime and powder your eyes before application if you have oily lids.

I think my skin tone is quite similar to yours! Would you be able to reccommend an everyday my-lids-but-better shade with a matte finish? “All That Glitters” is absolutely gorgeous but I’m not a fan of shimmery eyes, especially on the daily 9 to 5… Any suggestions? Thanks in advance! <3
Hey Zee..check out MACs soft brown eyeshadow..its very neutral n perfect for everyday wear n its matte..also arena is a good option but in satin finish if i am not wrong but no chunky glitters

Hey Zee! You can try MAC Soba or Texture, they are slightly darker than this in tone but with a softer finish (not completely matte). If you want something that completely blends in with your skin tone, try Inglot DS 463, it has a very subtle sparkle, can’t even see it unless you’re in directly sunlight or camera flash.
