Today I’m reviewing the newest launch from Lotus Herbals – Nutraglow Tinted Moisturizer in the shade Fresh Ivory.
Price : Rs 475 for 50 ml
My take on the Product
The product comes in a glass bottle with a pump dispenser. The heavy glass material of the bottle gives it a fragile and bulky feel. One needs to be careful while handling it, I’m not sure if it will survive a fall. I wish they had used fiberglass or plastic for the packaging – would have been much more convenient and robust.
The Tinted Moisturizer has a creamy-thick liquid texture. It spreads and blends with light massage and leaves a slight dewiness behind. I found the texture slightly heavy for my combination skin and it made my T-zone oily in a few hours of wear. Surprisingly it didn’t feel too heavy when I applied it but it did make my skin oily later on. Sadly, it didn’t moisturize some localized dryness/flaky skin around my nose too well.
The coverage is sheer to medium at best, it does not conceal any spots or pigmentation, just evens out the skin tone. It does give a soft glow to the skin but the effect is subtle. I think this product would work best for normal to dry skin. On oily or combination skin, it’ll make the skin a tad oily and would melt right off in very hot conditions. The staying power is fairly decent. Oiliness aside, it wore fairly well for about 6-8 hours on my skin. It does not settle into lines or pores and gives a very natural look to the skin.
For its price tag, I expected a bit more from this product. In the past few months, I’ve tried quite a few products that are suitable for a variety of skin types and don’t make the skin oily. But this one definitely won’t work for me in the summers. When compared to other TMs in the Indian market currently, Maybelline BB cream, Garnier BB cream, Deborah BB cream – all seem better value for money!
One good thing is that is contains sun protection (SPF 25). That makes it a useful everyday wear product reducing an extra step in the morning routine. It doesn’t have UVA protection though.
I’d recommend this for people who have normal to dry skin and who don’t need much in terms of coverage for uneven skin tone/spots etc. Not recommended for Oily skin.
Worn all over face without concealer –
The GOOD about Lotus Herbals Nutraglow Tinted Moisturizer :
- Pump dispenser – convenient and hygienic
- Creamy texture – easy to spread and blend
- Gives sheer coverage
- Evens out skin tone
- Gives a soft glow and a polished natural look
- Mildly moisturizing
- Available in 3 shades
- Contains SPF 25
The NOT-SO-GOOD about Lotus Herbals Nutraglow Tinted Moisturizer :
- Heavy glass bottle – bulky and prone to breakage
- Not suitable for oily skin
- Doesn’t take care of dry, flaky skin
- No UVA protection
Lotus Herbals Nutraglow Tinted Moisturizer is a sheer coverage moisturizer that is best suited for normal to dry skin. The creamy texture is easy enough to blend and gives a nice overall finish to the skin. However, it doesn’t moisturize too well and also makes the T-zone shiny in a few hours. Its not a bad product at all but it definitely seems overpriced to me!
Rating : 3.5/5
Shades available : 3 (Fresh Ivory is the medium shade). The lightest shade is similar, just with a pink undertone.
