Skincare Wednesday : Lotus Herbals Nutranite Night Cream Review, Photos

Night creams are of the most important elements of a skin care regime since our skin repairs and rejuvenates itself while we sleep. Today I’m reviewing a very affordable night cream from Lotus Herbals – the Nutranite Skin Renewal Nutritive Night Creme.

Price : Rs 345 for 50 g (buy online HERE)

What Lotus Herbals says about the Product :

Lotus Herbals Nutranite is a luxurious nutrient-rich night creme that helps renew the skin while you sleep. It works with skin’s own repair and replenishment system to undo the damage caused by dehydration and environmental exposure during the day. Its boosts skin’s resiliency, strengthens natural defenses while restoring firmness and smoothening imperfections.

As a result, skin is supple and renewed in the morning.

Naturally derived Alpha Hydroxy Fruit Acids derived from grapes, nourishing Ginseng & Lily nectar.

My take on the Product

The Lotus Herbals night cream comes in a heavy glass jar packaging which is quite bulky and heavy. Something lighter would have been more travel friendly. The jar comes with an added plastic insert inside to prevent the cream for smearing onto the inside of the lid.

The cream is white in color and has a light texture. It is neither too light nor too greasy – somewhere in between. It absorbs completely into the skin on light massage and doesn’t leave an oily after feel behind. It has a strong fruity smell, very reminiscent of grapes which is one of the ingredients. It instantly softens and moisturizes the skin. I’ve been using this on my combination skin since about 2 months and while it hasn’t improved my skin in any way, it does a good job of maintaining the skin. It hydrates the skin and doesn’t make the skin oily. I wake up to fairly healthy and hydrated (though not amazing) looking skin. It did not cause any breakouts or irritate existing breakouts on my acne prone skin. Many night creams just sit on the skin and feel greasy and heavy on the skin but this one does neither. I think it is one of the best ones in this price range and if just moisture and maintenance is what you’re looking for, you would not be disappointed!

You don’t need too much of product for a single application and this 50 g jar would last you at least 2 months. That makes this product quite good value for money! If you have dry/normal/combination skin and you need just nourishment for your skin, this would work well for you without hurting the pocket. I would not recommend this for oily skin though. If you’re looking for something extra in your night cream – like brightening effect or refining of texture or diffusion of age lines – this is not the product for you.

The one thing worth a mention here is that I experience slight tingling at times when I apply this. Since its not accompanied by any redness or breakout or visible irritation, I’m not too worried but women with very sensitive skin might want to check the ingredient list before purchasing. I have unfortunately thrown out the box that has the list at some point when I started using this cream.

Compared to the previous night cream I used – Avon Anew Rejuvenate night cream, the Lotus Herbals scores lesser points. The Avon one, in addition to hydration and maintenance, also gave this really supple, smooth look to the skin while diffusing the look of pores and imperfections to some extent. It is however, priced almost double the price of the Lotus Herbals one.

The GOOD about Lotus Herbals Nutranite Night Cream :

  1. Light texture
  2. Blends and absorbs easily
  3. Fruity fragrance
  4. Gives nourishment to the skin
  5. Doesn’t make the skin oily or greasy
  6. Good value for money
  7. Suitable for dry/normal/combination skin type

The NOT-SO-GOOD about Lotus Herbals Nutranite Night Cream :

  1. The glass jar feels heavy and bulky ; not travel friendly
  2. Slight tingling experienced at times after application
  3. Gives only nourishment to the skin – doesn’t improve

 Overall Verdict

Lotus Herbals Nutranite Night Cream is a great option for women with dry/normal/combination skin looking for an affordable nourishing night cream. The cream is light in texture, absorbs into the skin and moisturizes without making the skin greasy or oily. It may not give any added benefit apart from nourishing the skin  but if that’s all your skin needs – you would love this!

    Hi,

Please tell me a nice “affordable” neck/ Decolletagecream

Hi, sorry I haven't used any cream specific for the neck/decolletage. I just use whatever I'm using on my face all the way down the neck as well.
