My take on the Product

The Marilyn Monroe collection lipsticks come in a Limited Edition packaging with an autographed image of Marilyn on the tube. The lipstick is creamy and smooth in texture, super pigmented and has the classic MAC vanilla fragrance. The lipstick has a soft satin finish which is one of my favorite finishes – its neither matte nor too glossy – just somewhere in between. It stays on really well since its richly packed with pigment. I found the lipstick formula fairly moisturizing and it did not tug at the dry/flaky bits on my lips. The formula feels light and comfortable on the lips and doesn’t have the heavy look that some pigmented lipstick tend to have. It wore quite well, over 6 hours and stained the lips heavily so the lips were not devoid of color for a long time. The color did not feather or bleed while I wore it, it did not settle into lines either. Overall, an excellent formula!

The shade is a gorgeous reddened fuchsia that would look stunning on all skin tones. I love reds but there’s something so powerful, feminine and fresh about fuchsia lip colors! The color is bright and bold but far from neon. You can wear it as a stain for a softer look in the day time and refresh the lip color directly from the tube for the night time. If you like hot pinks, this is a MUST-HAVE color for you!

The lipstick looks quite red in the tube but its very pink on the skin/lips. To see more pictures of the packaging, check my review of the shade Charmed I’m Sure from this collection.

What I’m wearing here :

On my Face : I visited the Clinique store today and has a lovely experience – thanks to the PR and the store staff! I tried the Super Balanced foundation (05) in the store (which I’m wearing here) along with the Blended Face Powder, Pore Refining Solutions Instant Perfector (it really does minimize the appearance of pores!). After coming back from the store I just dabbed a bit of powder on my face before taking these pictures and you can see what a nice natural finish this foundation gives to my skin! I’m definitely picking it up next time I head over to Clinique!

On my eyes : MAC Paint Pot Genuine Treasure (LE), Bourjois Effet Smokey eyes pencil (Smoked Brown) and Maybelline The Falsies Mascara. Under eyes – Clinique Airbrush Concealer (02)

The GOOD about MAC Satin Lipstick Love Goddess :

  1. Limited Edition stylish packaging
  2. Smooth, creamy texture
  3. Richly pigmented
  4. Opaque coverage in a single swipe
  5. Long stay
  6. Moisturizing satin finish
  7. Does not feather/bleed
  8. Does not settle into lip lines

The NOT-SO-GOOD about MAC Satin Lipstick Love Goddess :

  1. Limited Edition

Overall Verdict

MAC Satin Lipstick Love Goddess is a gorgeous reddened Fuchsia shade that adds a lovely touch of glamour to the look! The satin finish has a soft sheen and feels light, comfortable and moisturizing on the lips. The formula is creamy, smooth, richly pigmented and long stay. It doesn’t feather/bleed or dry out the lips. If you’re a Fuchsia buff like me, you should definitely check out this shade before its sold out!

Rating : 4.9/5

It’s such a lovely color and you look beautiful as always in the pics… though the color looks a little scary in the tube.

Hi Preethi, the Air brush concealer is more of a light reflective concealer than a high coverage one. Its more suited for people who do not have a lot of pigmentation but more of shadow or thin skin. It brightens up the eyes but doesn’t neutralize pigmentation so much. For you I’d suggest the Even Better concealer from Clinique, it gives good coverage plus if you use it regularly, the pigmentation will lessen as well (Clinique base makeup products have skin care benefits too). They’ve just launched an Orange tone one for the Indian market – its very effective against the purplish under eye pigmentation. Hope this helps!

I didn’t purchase the Airbrush concealer – just tried it at the store. Will definitely review it if I purchase it.

Thanks a ton for the detailed reply Ankita. I have deep set eyes that make my eyes look tired and pigmentation is seen evidently. I’ll try the Clinique one that u recommended. Thanks :)
