MAC’s much anticipated Marilyn Monroe Collection is finally in stores now. Today I’m reviewing the shade Charmed I’m Sure from this gorgeous range!
Price : Rs 1050 for 3 g
My take on the Product
The Marilyn Monroe collection lipsticks come in a Limited Edition packaging with an autographed image of Marilyn on the tube. The lipstick is creamy and smooth in texture, super pigmented and has the classic MAC vanilla fragrance. The lipstick has a creamy matte finish and stays on really well since its richly packed with pigment. I found the lipstick formula quite moisturizing for a matte lipstick. I wore it over moisturized lips and I did not face any discomfort or dryness. The formula feels light and comfortable on the lips. It stays on really well, 6-8 hours easily and stains the lips heavily so the lips are not devoid of color for a long time. The color did not feather or bleed while I wore it, it did not settle into lines either. Overall, an excellent formula!
The shade Charmed I’m Sure is a deep blue based red that would flatter most skin tones. When worn blotted down as a stain, it gives a lovely raspberry red color on the lips. If you’re warm toned/dusky, you would like the contrasting tone of this lipstick against your complexion. It is a very balanced red, not too subdued but not very loud either. I love cool toned reds and combined with its flawless formula, this lipstick scores on all counts! The only drawback is that it is Limited Edition so if you like this shade, pick it up before it gets sold out! The shade Runway Red from the permanent range is similar to this shade.
Since its an LE product, it is priced a little higher than the regular price (Rs 990).
