MAC has now opened its first PRO store in India! The Juhu Shoppers’ Stop store in Mumbai now has a PRO section carrying all the Pro artist products apart from the regular range products. I attended the launch event today and here are some of the pictures I took –
It was an informal event where one could try out the products and interact with Mickey Contractor (Director of Makeup Artistry, India) and Sonic Sarwate (Senior Artist). Since I had to leave soon, I didn’t get a chance to talk to Mickey but I got the opportunity to talk to Senior Artist Sonic.
When you first glance at the PRO section of the store, all you see is a rainbow of colors. While that may be a dream for a Professional Artist, I wondered what products could be useful for the general consumers.
Here’s where Sonic showed me a few products that could be used by anyone –
1. Lip Palettes
These basically contain shades from MAC’s regular range in a given color family – like best selling nudes, best selling reds/oranges etc. I think the red/orange palette is a MUST-HAVE for someone who likes brights!
2. Blushes, Eyeshadows, Lipsticks, Pigments
MAC has some of these which are exclusive to the PRO range.
3. Mixing Medium
I forgot to take a picture of this but its clear liquid which is great as a base medium for pigments, glitters etc. I’ll probably pick this up when I visit the store next.
The PRO range has some useful tools like lash/brow combs, blending sponges etc. which can be quite handy.
Apart from these, the PRO range has a wide selection of colors in different textures – liquids, creams, powders, creamy powders, lip mixes etc. that are saturated with color and are perfect for makeup artists who like to mix their own shades.
The store also had these artsy makeup pouches –
In other news, MAC India has launched 2 new Limited Edition ranges – Carine Roitfeld and Marilyn Monroe. I didn’t pick up anything today as I was in a bit of a rush but I’m definitely going back to pick up a few pieces from the Marilyn Monroe collection!
And while we are on the subject of MAC Limited Edition ranges, the Archie’s Girls Collection for Spring 2013 will soon be launched in the US. I’m generally don’t fall for cute stuff but this collection is beyond that! I can’t begin to count what all I want from this collection! Karen of MBB has done a super-fun post today with this collection, do check it out! I *wish* this comes to India soon!
What I wore for the event ~
I went with an all MAC look with Pigment Old Gold on the lids, Melba blush, Matchmaster foundation, Spice lip liner – used all over the lip, topped with Cremesheen Glass in Deelight.
**Post contains pictures taken by me, love my new camera! Will update this post with PR photos when I receive them.
