Everyone wants beautiful winter skin. But nourished, silky smooth skin in the dry months needs a little extra pampering. Colder weather brings dryness, dryness and more dryness that can make skin dull, flaky and lusterless. Moisturizing is obviously an important skin care routine to follow but there are some other things you can do to keep your skin happy and dewy all winter.
1. Switch to a heavier moisturizer
The moisturizer you’ve been slathering on isn’t sufficient for the winter. Switch to an oil-based moisturizer to keep dryness at bay. Oil-based moisturizers form a protective layer on the skin and lockin moisture. Look for humectants (ingredients that attract moisture) like glycerine and alpha-hydroxy acids in cold weather moisturizers. Most night creams are oil-based. Apply a moisturizer two to three times day on damp skin for best results.
Shopping for your favorite brands was never easier. Select your beauty products and have them delivered, all from the comfort of your sofa!

I always switch to the time tested classic Pond’s cold cream in the winter and it really helps!
Hey Ankita, Useful tips.. But switching over to oil based moisturiser won’t clog my pores and cause breakouts? Mine is oily acne prone skin but this winter it is acting like a combination skin and my cheeks look flaky, peeled how much ever i moisturize.. Which product to try?
It depends on your skin Adity, my skin is oily rest of the year and acne prone as well but during the winters, heavy moisturizers don’t break me out. You could try Vichy Aqualia Thermal range, its good for sensitive, dehydrated skin.
i prefer lotus strawberry moisturiser… donno somehow my skin glows after applying it.
