Hey everyone!
Today I’m reviewing a fabulous cleanser for sensitive skin from a new brand – Cosmedic.
Price : Rs 499 for 100 ml
Available online for purchase HERE.
What the brand says about the Avederm Soothing cleanser :
Zero-irritation non-foaming cleanser for sensitive or allergy-prone skin simultaneously soothes, heals and prevents irritations or allergies. Formulated with soothing oats’ milk and Natural Moisturising Factors to gently calm and replenish your skin while fortifying your skin barrier. Free of Sulphates, Parabens, Alcohol, Lanolin, Nickel, Fragrance and Artificial Color. Hypoallergenic, Non-Comedogenic and Skin-Safe pH!
My take on the Product
Few days back, I suffered a huge breakout on my face. I had big angry red pimples, about 5 of them on the right side of my face. I’m still not sure what caused these, I’ve not had this kind of a breakout for more than a year now. It was at this time that Avederm to my rescue!
The cleanser comes in a sturdy green colored plastic bottle with a pump to dispense the product. The pump can be locked and the bottle can be carried during travel. I don’t have any major issues with the packaging though a transparent bottle would have been nicer. The pump is a little hard and needs a good amount of pressure so a smoother mechanism would have been more convenient.
The cleanser is runny pearly pale yellow liquid. It is a non-foaming cleanser so it doesn’t lather on the face. I’m used to foaming cleansers so this one took a little time getting used to. I apply the cleanser on dry or damp skin, massage it with a few drops of water for about a minute and then wash it off. I can see an instant reduction in the angry redness of my breakouts after washing my face with this. The skin feels very soft, hydrated and it has a soft, healthy glow post rinsing. Since its very mild and non-foaming, it may seem like its not cleansing well but when I use a toner, there is no dirt or residue on the cotton pad. However, the absolute best part about this cleanser is that it really does calm down irritated skin – in my case angry blemishes and after 3-4 days of continuous use, I noticed the pimples shrinking. It also prevented fresh breakouts that seemed to be developing along my jaw line. And all of this without drying out the face like majority of anti-acne products do!
The brand has another range specifically for anti acne products and while this one is generally for sensitive/irritated skin, it works well for my blemish-prone skin especially during heavy breakouts. I used this in conjunction with La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo and my blemishes were nearly gone in a week.
If you have skin that is very sensitive and prone to breakouts, rashes etc, do give this one a try. Its one of the best cleansers I’ve tried for sensitive skin and I’m definitely purchasing my second bottle of this. The only downside I see with this cleanser is that I end up using 2 pumps most times as it doesn’t lather and I don’t feel clean till I’ve used a generous quantity, as a result, the bottle would last about a month with 2-3 washes per day. I’m now going to keep it just for breakout emergencies.
The cleanser has a strong fragrance which reminds me of tea. I quite like it actually but everyone may not. It vanishes post wash though so it should not be an issue.
The GOOD about Cosmedic AVEDERM Soothing Facial Cleanser :

- Very gentle on the skin
- Doesn’t dry the skin
- Cleanses effectively
- Helps calming down irritated skin, breakouts
- Free from Parabens, , Sulphates, Lanolin, Nickel, Artificial color and fragrance

- Can be purchased online
The NOT-SO-GOOD about Cosmedic AVEDERM Soothing Facial Cleanser :
- The pump is a little hard
- The bottle does not last very long
- Everyone may not like the fragrance
Overall Verdict
Cosmedic AVEDERM Soothing Facial Cleanser is one of the best gentle cleansers I’ve tried so far. This non-foaming cleanser works very well in cleansing, calming and healing the skin without drying it out. The skin feels soothed, soft and smooth post wash and breakouts eventually calm down with regular use. The product is excellent for sensitive skin and I would recommend it to everyone with allergy/break out prone skin.

That is great. I would love to try it out..
Very well detailed review <3
Sounds like a great product.. My skin has been giving me a lot of trouble lately.. Bangalore’s climate is changing and my skin feels really dry and there’s a lot of redness on my face…
Have been experimenting with things to calm down my skin…
This looks like a nice product for sensitive acne prone skin..
this looks very good! never heard of this brand though..
Seems good.
I am using their depigmentation lotion.. which has worked fine so far.:)
Sounds like a really good cleanser. I prefer non foaming ones and am using Shiseido currently. I think I’ll give this a shot after that’s over.
This sounds so promising! My skin has become so dry due to winter, was looking for one. This might work it seems!
