FOTD : Neutral eyes, Matte Red Lips

Revlon Matte Lipstick Really Red is one of my favorite reds! I have quite a few reds Β but none of them look as richly ‘red’ and true as this one! I generally pick cool toned reds and I ended up with this warm red as it was a free gift with some other purchases. I have previously worn this shade in my Festive makeup look HERE.

In this look, I’ve paired this stunning red with neutral eyes and cheeks using the Clinique palette I received with my December Vellvette box. I’m not entirely happy with the texture of the powders in this palette especially the blush which is quite powdery and looks ashy on my skin. I’ll be swatching and reviewing this palette in full detail soon.

  1. Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup : Warm Golden
  2. Ben Nye Luxury Powder : Cameo
  3. Blush from Clinique Palette

These pictures have been taken without flash. If you notice, the Revlon Whipped Creme Makeup doesn’t quite make the skin look as flawless without flash. Don’t know what I’m talking about? See the previous FOTD with the same foundation with flash.

The Clinique blush has a bit of sheen to it but instead of making the skin glow, it looks ashy on my skin and highlights the pores. Not happy!

  1. Hi Ankita. I accept about the flash point but this looks good as well. I loved the way u shape your lips with a liner without making it look ‘made-up’. Can u pl pl pl review the revlon whipped cream? I’m waiting for your review so that I can purchase next week before a family function. Thankies πŸ™‚

  2. ac russian red all the way. i gt the same clinique palette bt wth 3 es n i detest it. it just wouldnt shw up on my skin. i hate it. i gt it in oct vellvette box

    1. Hi Dollie, Ruby Woo is strongly blue based, it you sheer it out it will look quite pink. Revlon Really Red is quite neutral with a slight hint of warm orange so when sheered out, its a tomato red tint. I will do a post on my reds, I did one swatch post few months back but my collection has grown since then πŸ™‚

  3. This is my favourite FOTD of yours to date. You look amazing and that lipstick is gorgeous. Personally, I prefer FOTDs without a bright flash because it looks more natural.

  4. Can somebody tell me where to get revlon really red matt lipstick online.. it says sold out in most of the sites .. πŸ™
