My take on the Product
The Maybelline Diamond Glow eye shadow palettes contain 4 eye shadows and Copper Brown is the neutral palette in this range. The packaging is quite nice – it has the eye shadows arranged in a line in bullet shaped pans with the highlighter shade occupying the largest pan. The top cover is transparent which allows one to locate these easily if you own more than one. The palette comes with a dual sided applicator which has a wide flat end and a narrow end. I actually find this quite useful for packaging on color on the lid and for reaching the inner corner. I like the fact that the packaging is really slim and space efficient, its very handy for travel.
The eye shadows are soft and smooth in texture but they are powdery and kick up plenty of excess product. The 2 lighter shades were more powdery than the darker 2. They are not very strongly pigmented and hence look much softer on the eyes. Because of their soft, powdery texture, they blend very easily. You do need a primer on the lids for them to show up well but you definitely need one if you want them to last beyond 4 hours on the lids. On my oily lids, the first signs of creasing appeared around hour 3 and by the 4th hour, there was noticeable creasing. Overall, I’m not impressed with the formula but its not bad either.
The shades ~
1 : Pale gold highlighter ~ soft shimmery finish, beautiful highlight shade for Indian skin tones. Can be used on top of cheekbones too.
2 : Warm Peachy gold ~ Sheer peach leaning gold, I’m not too fond of this shade. The pigmentation could have been better.
3 : Bronzed Gold ~ Pearl finish intense bronzed gold, love this shade!
4 : Golden Brown ~ Dark brown laced with very fine gold shimmer, great for a festive brown smokey eye.
This is the look I created using shades 1(highlighter), 3 (bronzed gold on lid) and 4 (brown in crease, lower lash line). You can see the stepwise tutorial for this look HERE.
The GOOD about Maybelline Diamond Glow eye shadow palette :
- Nice packaging
- Soft, smooth texture
- Decent pigmentation
- Blend easily
- Beautiful shades
- Soft shimmer/pearl finish – understated but festive
- Easily Available
The NOT-SO-GOOD about Maybelline Diamond Glow eye shadow palette :
- Textures are too powdery
- Pigmentation could be a little better
- Poor staying power on oily lids
Overall Verdict
Maybelline Diamond Glow eye shadow palette in Copper Brown contains 4 warm neutral shades (golds/brown/highlight) that are perfect for understated festive looks. The eye shadows have a soft (though powdery) texture, medium pigmentation and good blendability – but they don’t stay on well on oily lids. Overall, I like the selection of shades and while I don’t particularly mind the slightly sheer textures, the staying power could have been better!

Looks good in the pan and swatches.. But on the lids it does not show up much I guess. But u make all things look beautiful:)
This looks very similar to the cheaper version of Tips & Toes Exotic Eyes Gold Flakes that I recently reviewed on my blog.
what a dud frm Maybelline… the ones available in US are much better in quality!!!
