My take on the Product

The Bourjois Volume Glamour Max Mascara comes in a black packaging which is tapered at the ends and bulging in the center. I like the shape of the packaging and shiny, black color as well. The wand of this mascara is a big and dense with closely packed fiber bristles. It is a classic volumizing wand but I find that it picks up way too much product. Its also too thick for the inner/lower lashes – I always end up with some smudges on the skin while doing my lower lashes. Women with scanty lashes might find it difficult to work with this wand.

The formula is neither too runny nor too thick. It dries up fairly quickly so you don’t have to wait around for it to dry. The formula is waterproof but it comes off without difficulty (I’m using Lakme Absolute bi-phase eye makeup remover currently). It is a volumizing mascara and it definitely enhances the volume significantly but as mentioned previously, the wand picks up a LOT of product so the end result is a little untidy. It makes the lashes wonky and they look dripped in mascara. I generally wipe off some product on a tissue before using it to get a cleaner end result. It reminds me of Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara which gave a similar result. However, I really like the fact that it doesn’t flake or smudge as it wears, even after 9-10 hours of wear.

Overall, I like that it is very dramatic and jet-black but its not repurchase material. It needs a bit of work to get a clean looking result and the wand is a little too thick for convenient application.

The GOOD about Bourjois Paris Volume Glamour Max Waterproof Mascara : 

1. Attractive packaging
2. Neither too runny, nor too thick
3. Dries quickly
4. Waterproof
5. Comes off without difficulty with an eye makeup remover
6. Adds lots of volume and drama to the lashes
7. Long wearing ; does not flake or smudge
8. Did not irritate my eyes ; safe for contact lens wearers

The NOT-SO-GOOD about Bourjois Paris Volume Glamour Max Waterproof Mascara : 

1. Wand is too thick for lower/inner/scanty lashes
2. Wand picks up too much product – gives an untidy dripped in mascara look

Overall Verdict

Bourjois Paris Volume Glamour Max Waterproof Mascara is a volumizing mascara that adds lots of drama to the lashes but not in the best way. The wand picks up too much product and the lashes end up looking heavy and untidy. The formula is jet black and dries quickly – 2 very desirable qualities in a mascara and it is waterproof as well. I like it but don’t love it. If you’re looking for the kind of drama that Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara gives at a lesser price, you could check this out.
