Some of you already know about it and for those who do not, here’s the ‘Dove ad‘ which has been a topic of a lot of discussion on Twitter and in the comments here! As you would know, Dove believes in Real Women and never uses professional models for their campaigns. This time, for the launch of their new Hair Fall Rescue Intense Roots Treatment, they roped in bloggers from different fields – travel, fashion, beauty, parenting, lifestyle etc. to be the spokespersons for their new product.
My experience with the Shoot ~
I was one of the bloggers chosen and the production team worked with each one of us to create a unique script based on our life and our experiences with hair fall. I’ve suffered from hair fall since my teens so this was a fitting campaign for me! This ad was shot in Mid-October and the styling etc. was done in keeping with the brand identity – very soft, pastel and natural. The set was really beautiful too.
I’m a very camera conscious person and while blogging has helped me loosen up a bit, I still very conscious in front of the camera especially video. There were some hassles with my costume for this shoot as what looked good in person didn’t look good on camera etc. and after a lot of trials, with time running out, we narrowed down to the one I finally wore. I didn’t particular love it, I generally prefer more structured clothing but we were out of options. The makeup was done the makeup artist from the Production House, it was almost a no-makeup look, brown liner, just concealer+powder on face, no blush and natural lips – again not my personal style but I couldn’t be wearing a Fuchsia lipstick for a Dove Ad 🙂
This is the Video ~
Apart from this Video (which is dubbed btw, thats not my voice!), there are more articles from me about my life and my hair fall experiences which you can read on the Dove Facebook Page HERE.
The other bloggers chosen for this Video campaign are Jasleen & Sonu, Akriti Sachdeva, Kiran Manral, Shivya Nath and Smrithi Rao. You can check out their Videos on Dove India’s Youtube channel HERE.
[note color=”#FFE4C4″]Now I’ve not been too enthusiastic about sharing this everywhere because I feel too conscious about my look here. Its not my best look, not my personal style and despite blogging for nearly 2 years now, I still feel camera shy! However, I wanted to share this experience with my readers and followers. I was chosen for this campaign because of Corallista and a blog is nothing without its lovely readers! Corallista will be completing 2 years in a month’s time and with my Facebook page reaching 15,000 fans soon, a HUGE Celebration (read Giveaway!) will be coming up soon 🙂 [/note]
