Hey everyone!
Today I’m reviewing the fabulous Sunsilk Keratinology range (shampoo/conditioner) for Colored hair.
Price : Rs 200 for 200 ml of shampoo/conditioner
Sunsilk Keratinology Sun kissed Colour Therapy Shampoo
The shampoo comes in a slim dusty beige colored plastic packaging that flares out at the top. The press open-close cap is quite sturdy and closes tightly making it safe for travel. The shampoo is a runny beige-yellow pale liquid that lathers up quite well when massaged onto wet hair. It makes the hair smooth and silky right from the moment it is applied to the hair and one can feel the smoothness when rinsing it out with water. It takes off most of the oil from the hair in single wash but if you’ve used a particularly heavy oil, you might need 2 rinses. I love the scent of this range – it is exactly how the salon range spa products smell. The fragrance isn’t too strong though, it doesn’t linger on for very long. Overall, this is an excellent shampoo that makes the hair soft, smooth and silky, taking care of dryness and frizz.
Rating : 5/5
Sunsilk Keratinology Sun kissed Colour Therapy Conditioner
The conditioner comes in the same packaging as the shampoo except that the nozzle for dispensing product is at the bottom. The conditioner is pale beige-yellow in color and has a thick cream texture. It spreads easily through the hair and makes the hair soft and more manageable. It takes a bit of effort to rinse out but its leaves the hair feeling smooth and hydrated. The fragrance is similar to the shampoo. It takes care of dry ends and adds shine to the hair without weighing the hair down. I still however need a serum after the hair has dried since I have extremely dry hair.
Rating : 4.25/5
Overall Verdict
The Sunsilk Keratinology shampoo and conditioner used together are excellent for colored/treated dry-ish hair. The color and shine is maintained for a good 4-5 weeks post coloring and there is no dryness or frizzy-ness associated generally with treated hair. I don’t know if it actually prolongs the color since this is my first experience with all over coloring but it does keep the hair shiny, smooth and well maintained! Generally salon range products are quite expensive but this gives similar results at a very affordable price of Rs 200! Highly recommended!
Updated (11/03/2013) :
Having continuously used this shampoo/conditioner duo for over 3 months, I noticed that my hair fall was worsening. I was also getting an itchy chemical buildup on my scalp which I perceived as dandruff. I switched to an SLS-free shampoo and conditioner by Organic Surge which did help in curbing excessive hairfall and relieved my itchy scalp! While I loved the way my hair looked and felt after using the Sunsilk Keratinology, prolonged use did not work for me! Different products work differently on different people, its not necessary that you would have the experience as me.

would you prefer this over tresseme ?
Yes especially since my hair is colored at the moment. The Sunsilk conditioner is better for my dry hair.
