Tutorial : Kareena Kapoor ‘Muskaanein Jhoothi Hain’ (movie Talaash) inspired Eye Makeup

Hey everyone!

Today I’m doing a classic Retro eye makeup tutorial inspired by the look worn by Kareena Kapoor in the song Muskaanein Jhoothi Hain from the movie Talaash. It is a simple and glamorous look that can be worn with neutral as well as bold lip colors. For the full retro look, pair it with a statement lip like Kareena has worn here.

Hope you like the tutorial! Don’t forget to leave your comments at the end of this post!

Step 1 : Start with a clean, moisturized eye.

Step 2 : Apply a shimmery champagne cream/powder eye shadow all over the lid. I have used a shimmery primer – Urban Decay Sin.

Step 3 : Now apply a beige eye shadow like Inglot DS 463 all over the lid right up to the browbone. The shade is almost matte with just a hint of shimmer.

Step 4 : Apply a matte brown eye shadow in the outer 1/3rd of the crease using a fluffy brush as shown.

Step 5 : Sweep some of the brown eye shadow leftover on the brush on the outer 1/3rd of the lower lash line. Apply a flesh toned pencil along the waterline to open up the eyes.

Step 6 : Now using an angled brush, apply black gel liner along the upper lash line ending in a dramatic wing.

Step 7 : Finish off the look with dramatic mascara and a pair of false lashes!

Apply concealer under the eyes and complete the look by filling in your brows.

  1. i saw your previous post about this look and got to know about your issue with lip color…i think L’oreal color me intense crystal violet will the exact color for this look…just my thoughts
i love your blog by the way 🙂

  2. Would love to have seen you with the crimped hair and the vintage look as well. As a make up look it is gorgeous, but I think Kareena looks rather mannish in this. You on the other hand, look fab!
