My take on the Product
Lotus Herbals Purestay lipstick comes in a rose gold metallic slim packaging encased in a satin cover. I like the look of the metallic packaging, it looks much better than the other Lotus Herbals lipstick ranges and the satin cover comes in handy when you’re carrying the lipstick in a purse/bag, keeps the metallic cover clean.
The lipstick has a dry texture and I had difficulty in getting a smooth swipe on the lips as well as my arm while swatching. It will tug at the lips and get patchy if you try to apply it directly from the tube. A lip brush is essential to get an even layer of color while using this lipstick. A lip balm or a smidgen of gloss is needed to prevent the lips from appearing dry/chapped which defeats the purpose of a matte lipstick. As you might have guessed by now, its a drying lipstick with a matte finish and full coverage. The color stays for a decent amount of time due to this (about 5-6 hours) but the dryness is a big issue! Longstay lipsticks need to not be drying and there are many examples like Colorbar Velvet Matte, L’oreal Paris Infallible and MAC Matte lipsticks that prove this fact. Overall, I am just not happy with the formula and had it not been for this lovely shade, I would not be recommending these to anyone.
The shade Apricot Bliss is perhaps the only redeeming feature of this lipstick. Its a lovely apricot shade with an undercurrent of pink that makes a lovely soft bright for Indian skin. The underlying brown tinge will ensure that it works for dusky skin as well. I love love love this shade and I’ve been wearing this quite often since the past few days. It works well with a clean eye as well with a heavy eye. I often pair it with a soft peach/coral blush and it gives a lovely peachy glow to the face. The formula is disappointing but the shade is a stunner, would recommend this to everyone!
The GOOD about Lotus Herbals Purestay Lipstick Apricot Bliss :

- Good wear time
- Full coverage
- Matte finish
- Lovely shade

The NOT-SO-GOOD about Lotus Herbals Purestay Lipstick Apricot Bliss :
- Uncomfortable drying texture
- Gets patchy on the lips
- Needs a lip balm/gloss
- Not easily available yet
How the shade looks on me :
Lotus Herbals Purestay Lipstick Apricot Bliss is a gorgeous apricot shade with a hint of pink and a underlying brown tinge that’ll make it a lovely soft bright for Indian skin. While the color is fabulous, the formula is just disappointing. It is very dry, doesn’t apply well without the aid of a lip brush and some lip balm, feels tight and uncomfortable on the lips and can get patchy is worn alone. While it does stay on long, the formula is just too dry. With a horde of creamy matte lipsticks available in the market, this formula is definitely sub-par even though it has some redeeming features like the preservative-free ingredient list.
I’d recommend this lipstick for its shade, the formula needs improvement!
