Tutorial Thursday : Kareena Kapoor Sangeet Ceremony Makeup Inspired Look

Hey everyone!

Today I’m doing a tutorial inspired by the lovely bridal makeup Kareena Kapoor wore for her Sangeet Ceremony this week. Click HERE for more pictures of the event and her makeup. The whole look was very warm toned with a copper smokey eye, dusty copper-pink cheeks with lots of gold highlighter and a glossy brick lip. The beauty of this look is that it will look gorgeous on all skin tones and would work with any outfit.

Step 1 : Start by priming your eyes using your favorite eye primer. I have used NYX HD eye shadow base.

Step 2 : Line the eyes with kohl and apply it all over the lid as shown.

Step 3 : Using a pencil brush like MAC 219 or Coastal Scents pointed crease brush, soften the edges of the kohl on the lid and smudge in onto the lower lash line.

Step 4 : Apply a metallic copper eye shadow (Coastal Scents Swiss Chocolate) all over the lid as shown.

Step 5 : Apply a matte dark brown eye shadow in the outer corner and outer half of the crease.

Step 6 : Blend and soften the shades in the crease using a fluffy blending brush like MAC 217. Apply a gold based highlighter in the inner corner + tear duct area. Apply the copper eye shadow on the lower lash line.

Step 7 : Soften the edges of the eye makeup further using a skin colored/light brown eye shadow (no. 5 on the list of products used) on a fluffy blending brush. Target the area above the socket line.

Step 8 : Apply the highlight shade on the browbone. Finish the look with volumizing mascara.

Clean up any fall out from the under eye area, conceal and fill your brows after the foundation is done.

  1. Gorgeous as always 🙂 I love all the tutorials of urs 🙂 Very beautiful and easy to follow <3 I would like to do this look on myself. I don't have that quad… but, i pretty much have a good collection of MAC eyeshadows. Can u please tell me the colors that i can substitute the chai latte with MAC eyeshadows? 🙂

    1. Thanks Babitha! 🙂 For the dark brown you can use Handwritten or Espresso. For the lighter brown, you can use Soba or Texture.

    1. Thanks Arwa. I used The Body Shop face and body brush and applied the loose powder all over the face just like a compact powder.

  2. very pretty ,I have the chai latte quad but the prob is i can,t smudge the kohl properly:(
Anikta which camera do you use dear, ur pics are always very clear

  3. Gorgeous look! Your skin just looks better and better..is it the skin care regime or the makeup? Could you possibly do a post on how you click pics (the camera settings, lighting, angles, etc)? You’re pictures are always so clear and true to colour. I can never seem to achieve that.

  4. this one is stunning… I really like it.. so festive… btw have u seen kareena’s reception party outfit? OMG!! it was sooooooo gorgeous…

  5. Very pretty Ankita, beautifully done. But can you tell me why did you line the whole eye lid with Kohl, rather than directly applying the shadow?

  6. Wow! I like the look. I don’t have the products that you’ve used here. But I do have Oriflame Studio Artist Range and I hthink it would suffice as it contains everything that I require.
