Rimmel London has recently launched in India and I picked up this eye shadow quad few days back. I was super excited to try it out, sadly it didn’t live up to my expectations. Read on to know why..

My take on the Product
The packaging of the quad is very basic, nothing fancy about it. The transparent lid is useful especially if you own more than one of those. It comes with a small dual ended sponge applicator which can come in handy for touch ups because you might need that.
The eye shadows are soft in texture to the point of being powdery. But they are really sheer and to build up decent pigmentation, you need a base. The 4 shades performed differently individually –
Turquoise blue : The turquoise blue showed marked difference when used with a primer underneath. It is the only shade to contain large shimmer particles. However the shimmer is non-gritty and doesn’t fall onto the cheeks as the shade wears off. This shade was the fastest one to crease and fade, about 3 hours without primer and 6+ hours with primer. I’ve worn this in the inner half of the lid in the EOTD.
Pale Beige highlighter : I love the shade and finish of the highlighting shade in this quad. The powder is soft and finely milled and gives a lovely sheen to the highlighted areas. It wore better than the blue shade, about 4+ hours without primer and 7+ hours with primer
Purple : The matte purple shade swatched a little sheer without the primer but applied a little better with the primer on. Since its matte and sheer already, I had a little difficulty blending this shade. It would sheer out to the point of nothing -ness everytime it was blended. It wore the same as the highlighter, about 4+ hours without primer and 7-8 hours with primer. I liked the shade, not counting the sheerness and it looked pretty on the eyes too. It would be great for a soft smokey eye. I’ve worn it in the outer half of the lid.
Darkest shade : The darkest shade is a muddy grey with a hint of purple which contains some randomly distributed faint shimmer but it applies nearly matte. It applied much better with primer underneath though I once again had difficulty in blending as it got patchy when blended. I had to really pack on the pigment with this one for it to look uniform and even. It would pair well with the purple for a soft purple toned look. I’ve worn it on the lower lash line in this look.
The matte shades were too soft, almost powdery so there is a chance of a some fall out. The highlighter shade however has no such issues, texture+pigmentation wise its the best shade from the quad.
I picked up this quad because I really liked the color combination. Most purple toned quads would have had a lavender or baby pink instead of the blue here which wouldn’t have made this quad as interesting. While the sheerness of the color was a disappointment, it might work for those who don’t like wearing very intense and bold shade. For those experimenting with color for the first time, these colors present a safe option. The wear time however was poor on my oily lids without a primer underneath. If you like your colors to be true to pan, you can skip this quad.
These don’t look too bad in the overall look but I prefer more lasting and more pigmented eye shadows, I won’t be picking these up again!
In this look, I first applied a thick line of kohl on the upper lash line and then applied the blue on inner half, the purple on outer half of the lid, the highlighter in the inner corner and browbone, the darkest shade on the lower lash line. I then lined my upper lash line again, thinly this time and finished the look with mascara.
The GOOD about Rimmel London Glam eyes Quad eye shadow :
- Decent packaging
- Good color combination
- Soft, buttery texture
- Good for beginners
- Poor pigmentation
- Low staying power
- Need a primer underneath for decent wear
- Some shades are difficult to blend
Rimmel London Glam eyes Quad eye shadow in Bold Behavior contains an interesting color combination of a beige highlighter, a turquoise blue, a vibrant matte purple and a dark grey. The shades work very well together however they lack quality. The textures are soft, buttery but powdery, the pigmentation is lacking and a primer is needed for these shades to wear more than 4 hours. While the sheerness may work well for beginners, I still feel this quad was disappointing!
