L’Oreal Paris Infallible eye shadow Pebble Grey : Review, Swatch, EOTD

Hey everyone!

Today I’m reviewing a lovely soft grey eye shadow, the only matte shade in the L’Oreal Paris Infallible range ~ shade no. 020 Pebble Grey.

Price : Rs 450 for 3.5 g

What L’Oreal Paris says about the product :

Infallible Eyeshadows contain an exceptionally high level of colour pigments, for an intense colour finish. Additional binders (oils), coat and magnify the colour pigments revealing beautiful shimmer and maximized colour.

The colour adheres to the eyelid as durably and comfortably as a second skin. The Infallible formula stands up to the average woman’s 11,000 blinks per day. It also resists to rubbing, creasing and does not run into the fine lines around the eyes.

With a formulation that lies between the comfort of a cream and the ease of application of a powder, Infallible eyeshadow contains an exceptionally high proportion of binders (oils) for the softest, most velvety eyeshadow. The eyeshadow melts gently from the fingertips to the eyelid on application. The result is a rich and satiny look.

My take on the product

I have reviewed the shades All night Blue, Forever Pink, Flashback Silver, Endless Chocolate from this range in detail.

Quoting from previous reviews :

These eye shadow monos come in a unique packaging. The product is contained in a transparent plastic packaging and has a black plastic separator inside (apart from the outer screw on lid). The packaging is not as easy to use as a regular pan packaging where you can just flip open the lid and dab the product on the eyes but I can ignore that part as the product formula itself is really good. There are some really good things about the packaging like the colored lid and the transparent bottom which makes it easy to locate shades if you own many. The packaging does not come with an applicator or a mirror.

The eye shadow is not in loose powder form but its not very strongly bound like pressed eye shadows either. It appears like loose powder pressed together without a binder and hence if you accidentally drop the eye shadow, it will result in broken clusters of loose powder. It happened with me but thankfully it is easy to restore the product. Just scoop the spilled powder back into the container and press it with the black plastic separator.

Coming to the formula of the product ~ The eye shadow is very soft and pigmented, it applies smoothly though there may be a little bit of fall out. The best brush to use with this kind of texture is a soft, dense brush as it will pick up the product best.

Pebble Grey is the only matte eye shadow in a range of iridescent eye shadows and the formula is a little different. Unlike the others reviewed so far, the powder is very finely milled and soft. But it also sheers out a little bit when blended which happens with most matte eye shadows. It stayed on my oily lids (without primer) for about 7 hours before it started creasing and fading. By the 8th hour, there was significant fading as opposed to the other shades which hold on good for 10+ hours.

Despite the slightly weaker performance compared to the other shades in this range, I really like this shade for its soft, smooth formula and true grey color. Its a mid-tone grey with a matte finish, excellent for pairing with black for a smokey eye or just wearing alone with smudged kohl (as I have worn in this post). Its not a pale silvery grey so it won’t look all washed out on warmer skin tones but to balance the shade out, it would be best paired with a deep pink lipstick . Its not really one of my personal favorites from this range but its a nice shade to have. I can see myself wearing this with fuchsia/berry lipsticks.

The GOOD about L’oreal Paris Infallible Eye Shadow Mono 04 Forever Pink :

  1. Easy to locate transparent packaging
  2. Soft texture
  3. Superb Pigmentation
  4. Blends well
  5. Good staying power (7+ hours without primer)
  6. Substantial product quantity (3.5 g)
  7. Well Priced

The NOT-SO-GOOD about L’oreal Paris Infallible Eye Shadow Mono 04 Forever Pink :

  1. The packaging is not the most convenient to use
  2. The staying power is lesser than the other shades from the range
  3. Sheers out when blended

Overall Verdict

L’Oreal Paris Infallible eye shadow Pebble Grey is a true mid-tone grey with a matte finish. It is soft in texture, buttery smooth and well pigmented though doesn’t stay on as well as some of the other shades from this range. It also sheers a bit when blended but doesn’t disappear on blending. Its a nice shade to pair with black for a smokey eye and pairs well with brighter/deeper pink lip colors.

Rating : 4/5
