Today I’m reviewing Ring of Saturn Mineralize Blush from the newly launched range MAC Heavenly Creatures. I was quite excited about this collection – especially about the cremesheen glasses and blushes though Supernova blush (my first choice) got sold out very quickly. Nevertheless, I’m quite happy I could get my hands on Ring of Saturn since its such a stunning color!
Price : Rs 1600 for 3.2 g
My take on the Product
It comes in the regular MAC packaging – black round plastic body with transparent cover, no mirror or applicator.
The blush has golden peach and berry swirls which is part of the charm of Mineralized products. The powder is soft and finely milled, the shimmer is very fine and not chunky or loud. It has good pigmentation and if you’re using a very dense brush, you’d need to be careful to not pick up too much product. The shades are quite close together in the swirl so when using a blush, it would be difficult to use the shades separately but if used with an eye makeup brush, one could use the golden peach part as a highlighter. I had absolutely no trouble blending the blush and it delivered an excellent staying power of 8+ hours on my cheeks. No patchiness or unevenness as it faded. Formula-wise, its a stellar product!
The shade is decsribed by MAC as “terracotta and gold melange” which is the resultant shade when the golden peach and berry are swirled together. The shade is lovely and I think it would flatter Indian skin tones though I feel it highlights my open pores a little bit. The shimmer in both the regions is very soft and more of a pearly sheen than shimmer. It adds some glow and cheeks and one wouldn’t need a highlighter separately while using this. Brides-to-be might want to check this one out!
Not that I’m going to every finish it up, at Rs 1600 for only 3.2 g of product, its definitely expensive and much more so than the regular MAC blushes. But the formula is great and the color is beautiful, if you pick this up, you won’t regret spending the 1600 bucks!
The GOOD about MAC Mineralize Blush Ring of Saturn :
- Attractive swirl patterns
- Soft, smooth texture
- Finely milled powder
- Good pigmentation
- Blends easily
- Excellent staying power
- Shimmer is very subtle
The NOT-SO-GOOD about MAC Mineralize Blush Ring of Saturn :
- Slightly enhances pores (only if you notice closely)
MAC Mineralize Blush Ring of Saturn is gold laced apricot shade that will work across many skin tones. The color gives a lovely warmth to the face while the fine shimmer acts as a highlighter. The formula is excellent – super smooth texture, finely milled powder, superb pigmentation and a wear time of over 8 hours. The only drawback is that it *slightly* enhances my pores though not in a very obvious way. Overall, its an lovely product even though a tad expensive. I’d recommend it to everyone!
