Colorbar has recently launched some new products and one of their new launches are the Perfect Pout Glosses which are sheer, light weight, moisturizing glosses available in 8 lovely shades. Today I’m reviewing a pretty raspberry red shade from this range ~ Scandal.
Price : Rs 550 for 3.0 ml
What Colorbar says about the Perfect Pout lip gloss :
- Immediate Volume – a unique and revolutionary product that visibly increases the volume of lips without any discomfort.
- Extra glossy finish – designed to provide high shine for all Day long
- Extremely creamy and moisturizing – keeps your lips smooth, supple and intensely hydrated
- Dermatologically tested
My take on the Product
Colorbar Perfect Pout glosses come in a long thick-walled glass tube with a long tapered sponge tip applicator which is slightly different from the regular doe foot applicator. The longer shape of the applicator allows one to cover the entire lip is a single stroke and I do find it slightly more convenient than the regular applicators. You can angle it to reach the corners of the mouth. It applies the gloss uniformly and one doesn’t need to go back into the tube for more product.
The texture of this gloss is like a gel, it feels absolute non-sticky and very light and comfortable on the lips. While the True lip gloss (reviewed HERE) are thicker and saturated with color, the Perfect Pout glosses are sheer and thin. The color is enough to add a even layer of pigment on the lips but will not cover up heavy pigmentation. The best thing about these is that they are super moisturizing, you can apply them on dry/parched lips and you will feel your lips getting soft and comfortable after a few minutes. The shimmer is very fine and non-gritty, it doesn’t feel chunky on the lips though you might feel it if you rub your lips together. The finish is ultra glossy which looks really pretty and glamorous. It also gives a nice juicy volume to the lips. Since they are not high on the pigment, the lasting power is not a lot. It stays on for a good 3+ hours with light snacks and probably an hour or so longer if you don’t eat at all in between. However, a full heavy meals might wipe it out almost entirely especially if you’re consuming oily food. Even when it has worn off, one can feel a thin layer of balm-like moisturizing clear gloss which keeps the lips soft and nourished . I was hoping for longer wear but it is a sheer, non-sticky gloss at the end of the day and this is pretty much what any sheer gloss delivers!
The shade Scandal is a pretty raspberry red shade with fine silver sparkle. The sparkle is not very densely distributed which is how I like it. The shade looks really pretty on the lips, its the darkest shade from the range and has sufficient pigment to be worn alone. If you have any natural pink/red in your lips, it will enhance the natural lip color beautifully. I’ve always wanted a cool toned lip gloss and this one fits the bill perfectly! It can be added on top of any red/magenta lipstick too and it seems to last longer when topped over a lipstick. Colorbar Velvet Matte Oh My Magenta and Scandal make a perfect combination!
The shade will suit all complexions and since its quite sheer, women who haven’t forayed into red lip colors can try this out with ease. Highly recommended!
The GOOD about Colorbar Perfect Pout Lip Gloss 008 Scandal :

- Super hydrating
- Ultra glossy finish
- Non-gritty shimmer
- Feels thin, light and comfortable on the lips
- Gives a juicy volume to the lips
- Decent staying power
- Scandal – shade will suit everyone

The NOT-SO-GOOD about Colorbar Perfect Pout Lip Gloss 008 Scandal :
- Vanishes with a heavy meal
- Expensive for the 3 ml quantity
- There may be some sparkle left on the lips once the color has worn off
Overall, its a lovely gloss that sits pretty on the lips with its ultra glossy finish and makes the lips soft, smooth and hydrated. Since its sheer and light weight, you can easily wear this over a lipstick for added oomph! However, at Rs 550 for 3 ml, I feel its a bit expensive! I still like the product very much and would recommend it to those who like sheer, hydrating glosses. Scandal is a beautiful raspberry red shade with silver sparkle that looks great when worn alone and can be paired with cool toned red/magenta lipsticks.
