L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Lipstick 840 Nature’s Blush : Review, Swatch and FOTD

I’m a HUGE fan of L’Oreal Paris lipsticks and on my quest for the perfect nude, I recently picked up the shade Nature’s Blush from the newly launched shades in the Color Riche range.

Price : Rs 785 for 3.6 g

L’Oreal Paris Color Riche lipsticks come in a luxurious gold packaging which looks elegant and snaps shut with a satisfying click. The swivel mechanism works smoothly and the bullet is the standard slanted tip. Like the other Color Riche lipsticks, the bullet has the brand name engraved onto it. If you notice closely, the Color Riche lipsticks have a sharper, prettier looking bullet than other lipsticks, not important really but I like the look of it!

The lipstick is soft, creamy and glides like butter on the lips! The formula is well pigmented and moisturizing. A single swipe is all you need for full intensity color on your lips. I absolutely LOVE the Color Riche formula, I have previously tried some of the brighter shades from this range like Intense Fuchsia, Burning Sunset, Sparkling Amethyst and Intense Ruby. While the brighter shades wore for a long time on account of the staining pigments, I was quite surprised to find that Nature’s Blush wore for a good 4.5-5 hours on my lips!  There was no uncomfortable stretchy feeling, no patchiness, no stickiness even after 5 hours of wear when only about 20% color was left on my lips. For a nude shade, this is really good wear time! My favorite thing about this formula is the rich, luxurious feel on the lips, it reminds me of high end lipsticks and is totally worth the price!

I’ve heard/read this so many times which is why I’m addressing this in this post. For many lipsticks in the Rs 700-800 bracket, I’ve heard women remark that they’d rather throw in a couple of bucks more and pick up MAC. Now I have nothing against MAC lipsticks, I love certain finishes but the quality is not consistent over all the shades and finishes. Yes MAC is MAC and everyone (including myself!) goes gaga over MAC but with time I’ve learnt to make smarter choices! Just the tag of MAC doesn’t always guarantee superior quality over other brands. Some products are hits while some are a complete miss! So in some cases, its better to go for a good quality expensive drugstore product than a mediocre MAC product.

Nature’s Blush is a stunning warm peachy brown with the barest hints of red. It has a creamy finish and does not contain any shimmer. It will make a flattering nude for Indian skin tones especially medium skin tones. The warmth of the shade works very well for my skin tone and even when worn with nude eye makeup, it looks lovely! Its not the kind of nude that’ll wash you out or that would need a heavy smokey eye to look wearable. I’d highly recommend this shade to everyone especially for working women who prefer neutral lip colors. Its one of my favorite lipsticks now just because of the lovely shade but for its stellar formula as well!

For those looking for a pinker neutral, check out Beige Creme and Tender Pink (my next pick!) from the Color Riche range!

Overall Verdict

L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Lipstick 840 Nature’s Blush is a dusty peachy brown with a hint of red that works as a lovely nude shade on my medium skin tone. The formula is excellent – creamy soft texture, great pigmented, excellent hydration and good wear time. Could you please tell me which neutral color I should go for? My complexion is same as yours but I have thick lips. I am a bengali so I need a nice nude colour to go with glamorous smokey eyes and big Red bindi. I also intend to wear it to office. So please suggest.
