The Body Shop Strawberry Body Mist : Review

I’ve been a fan of The Body Shop fragrances from quite some time now, my favorite being White Musk Blush and Moroccan Rose which I’ve repurchased when I used up the first ones! One of my earliest TBS products was the Strawberry Body Polish which smelled just so incredible that I keep it for special occasions only! Recently The Body Shop launched new body mists in Strawberry, Satsuma, Shea, Moringa, Mango, Pink Grapefruit, Coconut and Vanilla. I couldn’t resist picking up the Strawberry one as I had just finished my bottle of the White Musk Blush.

Price : Rs 645 for 100 ml

What The Body Shop says about the product :

Our Strawberry takes on a fresh new form. Spray this light scented body mist all over your body for a gentle burst of sweet fruitiness. It’s irresistible.

  • Sweet strawberry fragrance
  • Light and fresh
  • Use all over body
  • Contains strawberry extract

My take on the product

The Body Shop Strawberry Body Mist comes in a transparent gloss bottle with a regular pump to spray the mist. Since the bottle is glass, it feels much heavier than the other body mists which come in plastic bottles. I prefer plastic ones as they are lighter and there is not danger or breaking it in case it falls, they are quite sturdy for travel too! Apart from this factor, it is a clean, simple and pretty packaging with the Strawberry emboldened across the bottle.

TBS Strawberry Body Mist has a sweet strawberry fragrance which is not quite as lovely smelling as the Body Polish. The first thing you notice as soon as you spray it on is that its quite strong, so much so that my room smells of strawberry for a while after using this. I’m not quite sure if I love this scent, it feels just a tad too heavy for my liking. I’m not averse to heavy, heady scents but there’s just a little something about this scent that I don’t quite like. Don’t get me wrong, its not unpleasant but I don’t get that instant uplifted feeling when I use. I feel it it has been a little softer, I might have liked it better. The good thing though is that it stays on the skin for a good 5-6 hours. The scent is a bit strong and easily discernible for first hour or two and then it settles into a softer note and fades slowly as the day wears on. The other body mists I’ve tried lasted much lesser on me as they had a softer fragrance. For a body mist, I think the staying power is quite good but I’m just not bowled over by the scent.

The GOOD about The Body Shop Strawberry Body Mist :

  1. Simple and attractive looking bottle
  2. Good spray mechanism
  3. Smells like strawberries
  4. Good staying power for a body mist

The NOT-SO-GOOD about The Body Shop Strawberry Body Mist :

  1. The scent is not quite as alluring (like the Strawberry Body Polish from TBS)
  2. Heavy gloss bottle packaging – feels bulky and is susceptible to damage

Overall Verdict

Overall, I think the Strawberry Body Mist is a delicious smelling fragrance which does remind me of strawberries but it seems to be missing that special something that the Body Polish has. Its a strong fragrance which may not be everyone’s liking but on the upside stays on a good 6 hours on me unlike the other body mists from The Body Shop. The bottle is made of glass which makes it heavier and susceptible to damage, I prefer plastic ones like the White Musk Blush one. Do take a long sniff in the store before you pick this one as its not for everyone, even though you may love strawberries!

OMG, TBS fragrances are just out of this world… If you have not tried Love Etc original, or Neuroli Jasmin, do have a little sniff in store – they are gorgeous! Too bad that my absolute favourite ever, Cassis Rose (which smelt like a beautiful romantic rose-petal-filled summer evening) has been discontinued in the UK. Very sad about that 🙁

I also dislike strong fragnances. I start feeling giddy instantly and hate it when my day starts like this! So TBS Strawberry Body Mist definitely not for me. Thanks for the review 🙂

I prefer softer ones for the day time too but for special occasions/evening, I like strong, heady fragrances!

5-6 hours????!! Really? I went and bought myself the Moringa mist(as the SA said that Vanilla would get too overpowering for a daily college ride and didn’t go well on me) and I can hardly sense it after 2-3 hours! Or is it that others can pick it off when near you a.d you cannot?
And how ‘liberally’ should the spray go? I mean lightly spray all over or douch yourself in ir to build up?
Though, moringa is one heavenly scent(I regret not buying the gift pack on discount consisting the rabge).
And the body mists on TBS fragrances are far better than these individual stand-alones.

Ohh this is quite strong, it stays this long with 3-4 light spritzes all over.

I tried the Satsuma body mist first, Ankita, as it’s my favourite fragrance of the lot but it was slightly disappointing, still I got it. I was expecting it to smell just like the body butter. It’s lighter and more delicious than the strawberry though. Leaves a faint scent aside
