Hey everyone!!
I’m really excited to share this look and tutorial with you today. I realised I’d been doing more of neutral and wearable looks lately so for this week’s tutorial, I decided to do something fun and edgy! The look I’m doing today is inspired by a look worn by Rihanna and features a bold Shimmering Turquoise Eye liner.
I loved creating this look, I hope you like it too! Don’t forget to leave your comments below!

The Inspiration

Products used for this look :
- Chambor Dazzle Eye pencil : Turquoise
- Colorbar eye shadow : Flirt
- Inglot Duraline
- Bourjois Khol n Contour pencil : Black
- MAC Pigment : Reflects Turquatic
- Bourjois Volume Glamour Max Mascara
- Brushes : Angled liner brush, smudging brush
- Black gel liner (not pictured)

Step-by-Step Tutorial :

Step 1 – 4 : This is a really simple look but the number of steps is more as I’ve broken down the winged liner application in smaller steps for easier understanding. Start by lining the eyes using a waterproof turquoise liner from the upper lash line and extend the line from the outer corner as shown. I have used Chambor Dazzle pencil in Turquoise.

Step 5-6 : Having traced the bottom part of the liner, now block the liner by drawing an upper boundary as shown. Keep your eye open and draw a line following the natural contour of your eye socket. Join the outer point of this line to the lower boundary line ending in a crisp wing.
Step 7 : Now fill in the outline created in the previous steps with the same liner.
Step 8 : Apply kohl on the inner rims of the eyes including the upper waterline. I have Bourjois Khol n Contour Pencil.

Step 9 : Using the same turquoise liner, line the lower lash line softly 3/4th of the way starting from the outer corner.
Step 10 : Using a smudging brush, smudge the liner on the lower lash line for a smokey, soft look.
Step 11 : Using a flat dense brush, press some reflective turquoise pigment on the inner half of the liner (leave the outer half as it is). If you’re using Glitter, use some glue on the area where the glitter is to be applied before applying it. I have used MAC Reflects Turquatic Pigment (Dry).
Step 12 : Give a clean, pointed shape to the wing by using an angled liner brush, turquoise eye shadow and Inglot Duraline. You can just use a moistened brush (with water) but using the Duraline will ensure that the liner does not smudge/fade. I have used Colorbar eye shadow Flirt with Duraline to create a clean wing.

Step 13 : Work more on the wing of the liner to get the desired shape using the angled brush.
Step 14 : Apply black liner in a thin line on the upper lash line to add volume to the lashes and finish off with mascara.
Now, if you have dark circles or droopy eyes, I’d suggest that you skip the kohl and only apply the liner on the upper lash line. This will give a lift to your eyes. Kohl and eye shadow on the lower lash line can emphasize dark circles or drooping eyes especially if the under eye area has not been concealed well.

Finish off the look by adding some compact powder on the browbone. Clean up any fall out from the under eye area and fill your brows after doing the foundation and powder on the face.
Products used for the face :
- Bourjois Flower Perfection Foundation no. 55
- Maybelline Dream Matte Powder
- Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzing powder (for contouring)
- Clarins Blush Prodige Illuminating Cheek Color 02 Soft Peach (blush)

For the Lips :
- L’Oreal Paris Color Riche lipstick : Nature’s Blush

Finished look :

[note color=”#FFE4C4″] I ironed my hair a bit to go with the edgy look. Since the eye is so dramatic, its best to keep the rest of the face really soft and natural. I almost paired a soft coral lipstick with this but I think the eyes really pop with the nude cheeks and lips. The glitter is what really adds oomph to this look, if you cannot get the MAC one I’ve used, check out Faces and Kryolan as they have glitter pigments in their product range. The great thing about this look is that you can do it with any color – Jeweled Purple, Midnight Blue, Lime Green, Forest Green or even Orange! I hope you liked the look!
