As you read this post, I’m off to the rehearsal of my Graduation Ceremony that takes place tomorrow. And whilst I’m getting a crash course in security arrangements, (the PM is the Chief Guest), you enjoy this pretty lip gloss from the Lakme Absolute Collection.
Price: Rs 375
Quantity : 3 ml
My take on the Product
The Plump and shine gloss comes in thick transparent tube with a steel grey metallic cap. The cap has a regular slanted sponge tip applicator inside. I like the packaging – it looks classy and the steel grey cap adds a nice touch. However, there are a few things that could be improved. For starters, the shade name is not clearly and distinctly written on the tube, there’s just a tiny print on the cap stating the name. Secondly, the applicator picks up very little amount of product at a time and one has to dip it into the tube a few times to get the desired color on the lips. Look-wise, I find the packaging sleek and attractive!
The texture of this lip gloss is non-sticky though slightly on the thicker side. It feels very comfortable andmoisturizing on the lips with no stretchy uncomfortable feeling that generally accompanies long wear glosses. It glides smoothly and evenly on the lips and stays that way for quite some time. The staying power of this gloss is claimed to be 6 hours and without meals it does stay for 6 hours. I tried it on after my dinner at 8 pm and the gloss was very much there when I went to bed at 2 am. However, on a regular day, one is very likely to have meals and with a bit of eating and drinking, it stays on for about 3 hours. I quite like the staying power especially considering how non-sticky and comfortable it is. The only con is that when it fades, one is left with tiny shimmer particles on the lips which are non-gritty but still not a pretty sight!
The shade Cherry Shine is a pretty soft coral red shade that looks a bit pinker on the lips that how it appears in the swatch. A flattering shade for both cool and warm toned complexions, this is my favorite shade from this range closely followed by Candy Shine (Reviewed HERE). Despite the intensity in the swatches, it looks very natural on the lips (See FOTD). I like the sheerness of the color, it makes it very wearable! If you don’t mind shimmer in your lips products, do check out this shade!

The NOT-SO-GOOD about Lakme Absolute Plump and shine lip gloss Cherry Shine :
- Applicator doesn’t pick up enough product , one needs to dip it in back for more
- Shade label is not written prominently on the tube
- Leaves behind shimmer after fading
Lakme Absolute Plump and shine lip glosses are sheer non-sticky moisturizing glosses that give the lips afuller appearance and stay on 3+ hours. The gloss contains a bit of shimmer but its non-gritty and adds to the shine but is left behind as the gloss fades. The packaging is quite sleek and attractive and a welcome change from the older Lakme packaging. Cherry Shine is a soft coral red with silver shimmer that gives a very natural color to the lips, it would suit a lot of complexions!
