Maybelline has launched some gorgeous autumn lipstick shades in the new Jewels lipstick collection. I love berry pinks and I’ve recently reviewed the shade Berry Brilliant from this range HERE. It reminded me a lot of of one of my favorite lipsticks - MAC Rebel, lets see how similar they are…

As you can see from the swatches, MAC Rebel is more purple while Maybelline Berry Brilliant is pinker. Also, MAC Rebel has a satin finish, is more pigmented and staining and hence stays longer. Maybelline Berry Brilliant on the other hand, has a glossier finish and is less staining. They are not identical, but quite similar! So if you’d like to try out a shade like MAC Rebel, Maybelline Berry Brilliant can give you a similar color at much more pocket-friendly price!

i actually like the feel of maybelline better
well the lipstick looked too dark,,,and i was so wanting to see it that way,,it has come out sheer

I think I would rather shell out the extra money for Rebel. It seems to have a dimension and uniqueness that Berry Brilliant lacks. But that’s just me! I am very particular about my lipsticks.

I actually prefer the Maybelline to the MAC version. But I think it’s mostly because I prefer a glossier finish with this type of shade.
