I’m one of those people who doesn’t mind sharing my products with my Mum and maybe my closest sisters but apart from that, I don’t like sharing my makeup. It could be unhygienic and many times, people don’t treat your things with the same care and respect that you do. I’ve had instances when people would come to me asking to borrow my things but I have politely declined. What is your take on sharing makeup?

i wont share my lipstick and lip balm with anyone.. same way my eye penicls and brushes..
Even I share my makeup with my mom sometimes, she’s not a makeup person.
I agree about people or friends not using the products with respect..but there are occasions like some college events like recently I was performing a dance with some friends, and two of them used my compact and lipstick.. Couldn’t say no this time, but not again!
I have shared lippies and blushes occasionally during emergency times like a wedding makeup hurry or so with very closest friends and family… but then i make sure that i use a brush for transferring the product.. i agree it can be extremely unhygienic…
I dont like sharing my make up. But if i have n other go, i make sure i wipe it with a tissue after use.
i used to share with my mom. i don’t use other people’s lipstick nor share my lipbalms or lipstick. But I share anything that comes out of tubes.
I used to share my kajal pencils with friends in college. But one day i got eye infection and that was the last of it.
Though I don’t want to but sometimes people make it impossible for us to say no…
Exactly, even I don’t like sharing my makeup stuff but many a times it becomes difficult to refuse..
Ankita.. suggest some ways of politely refusing for the same..
I don’t LIKE to share my makeup with anyone but my sister. My aunt frequently steals things out of my drawers but I’ve started buying her some small palettes to try to dissuade that. The only time I share makeup is when I do friend’s makeup – and then I always use disposable applicators and/or disinfect the makeup.
