My take on the Product

The L’oreal Paris Infallible concealer comes in a sleek and simple twist-up packaging. I like how sturdy and travel-friendly it is, not to mention super easy to use!

The texture of this concealer is creamy but its not so soft that it will crumble on application. Despite the slight stiffness in texture, it feels smooth to apply and doesn’t stick in uneven patches on the skin like stick concealers do sometimes. It blends very easily and gives about medium coverage. It covers up my pigmentation and veins showing through my skin but on heavy pigmentation, it doesn’t provide enough coverage. Even though it doesn’t give absolutely full coverage, it brightens up my eye area considerably and stays on well. I absolute love the finish of this concealer, it doesn’t go dry or too creamy, it has the perfect very natural finish which mimics the texture of healthy skin.

I always moisturize before applying and it blends easily over moisturized skin, staying crease-free for almost 7-8 hours after which I begin to see slight creasing. The creasing starts in the lines right under my tear duct but its quite subtle so its only visible on close inspection. I didn’t expect to wear a full 16 hours and I’m quite happy with the wear time. I just wish the description did not overpromise! It does last beyond 8 hours but the with slight creasing and fading. The good thing is that it is so so easy to apply that one can do a touch-up practically anywhere. I feel it might be creasing a little sooner on me as I am using a really rich eye cream right now. If you don’t use such a heavy eye cream, it would delay creasing. Nevertheless, I am quite satisfied with the 8 hour wear!

This has become my everyday concealer when I’m just going out for a walk or for groceries, a quick dab under the eyes and I’m good to go! It is expensive but I find it better than the Colorbar Cover up stick I’ve used in the past. The only reasons one would want to stay away with this is if you have very heavy pigmentation with purplish bags or if you cannot find a shade match.

Apart from using on the under eye area, I have also tried it out around my nose and mouth for some coverage on days I want to skip foundation and it gives decent coverage but make sure to moisturize well. I have some a small perennially dry patch on the side of my nose which gets accentuated when I use this concealer without moisturizing well.

The shade 04 Golden Beige was sent to me by the brand PR and on first application, I felt it is way too light for my under eyes but a few minutes after blending it in, I realized the ashy look was gone and the color had adjusted to my skin, brightening up my area considerably. Even though only 3 shades are available, I think these might work for a lot of people despite not being an exact match. Its only when you over apply, the ashy greyish tone might show but if you apply normally, it should not be a problem. There are 2 more shades available 01 Vanilla and 05 Honey. 05 Honey seems to have a bit of orange tone so it should work for those with darker purplish pigmentation (unless its too heavy in which case you would need a heavier coverage concealer along with a corrector).

  6. Stays on well without creasing/fading for at least 8 hours
  7. Medium coverage
  8. Holds up well to sweaty, oily skin in humid weather

  10. 10 g will last a long time!

The NOT-SO-GOOD about L’Oreal Paris Infallible 16 hour Concealer  :

  1. Limited shades
  2. Does not live up to the 16 hour claim
  3. Doesn’t give enough coverage for heavy pigmentation

Overall Verdict

L’Oreal Paris Infallible 16 hour Concealer is a creamy stick concealer that applies and blends smoothly giving medium coverage and a very natural finish. The concealer holds up well in humid weather giving 8 hours of flawless wear after which it begins to crease and fade a little. The shades may be limited but on me, a lighter shade adjusts to my skin and brightens up  my under-eye area considerably. The stick form makes it super easy to use and perfect for travel and touch-ups. I am quite happy with this concealer and would recommend it to everyone looking for a fuss-free, easy to apply concealer.

Rating : 4.25/5
