I love black liners and a glossy black liner with blue and gold micro shimmer is quite a rare find! Today I’m reviewing L’Oreal Paris Super Liner Luminizer for Brown eyes which is part of the L’Or Electric Collection which is a beautiful black liner with a soft, glossy finish!

Thanks to its soft and supple sponge tipped pen, Superliner Luminizer gives a quick, easy and uniform application. Create a line as thick or as delicate as you wish. Hold the eyelid taut with your other hand to facilitate application. Superliner is a liquid eyeliner in a special sponge tipped pen and thus the colour can be applied with ease and precision as thin fine lines or thick sultry flicks.

My take on the product

I have already reviewed the shade Dark Sapphire from this range which is a deep jewel toned blue shade. The formula of Black Diamond is essentially similar to other shades in this range  - its a thin liner which applies easily and dries quickly but falls short when it comes to pigmentation. It takes 2 swipes to get intense color and the application may end up slightly uneven sometimes because of too much layering. If you like your liners soft and subtle, this would work brilliantly for you but if you’re like me and like your liner dark and intense, you would need to layer to get the desired intensity. The formula is water-resistant, dries quickly and wears quite well! Its easy to remove with a few splashes of water or a light makeup remover. I feel the formula could have been better and I say this because I’ve tried some brilliant liners from L’Oreal like the Instant Impact Felt liner. The shade Black Diamond is a gorgeous soft glossy black with fine blue and gold shimmer. Now that’s a rare combination, don’t you think? I love glossy black liners and with 2 layers of this, I get a lovely black line on the lids that stays for a long time though the glossy finish seems to fade a bit after 5 hours of wear. For those who like wearing subtle liner to office or those who like their makeup soft and natural, this is a great product! If you’re just learning to wear liner, you would love the felt tip and the well designed handle. Even though I’m a jet black liner person, I love wearing this for quick trips out for groceries etc. when I don’t want to be wearing very obvious or stark makeup. Even though its marketed for Brown eyes, it would naturally suit everyone!

Overall Verdict

L’Oreal Paris Super Liner Luminizer  Black Diamond  is a soft glossy black liquid liner containing fine blue and gold shimmer that comes in a beautiful packaging. The felt tip makes it easy to apply but the consistency is slightly runny and sheer so it needs 2-3 layers to achieve an even, intense finish. The formula is water resistant and flakes off when in continuous contact with water. It wears well on my lids the entire day without flaking off except for a small area near the inner corner. Overall, its is a good product but having used some excellent liners from L’Oreal Paris, I feel it could have been better!
