Hey everyone!
Hope you’re off to a great start of the week! Today I’m reviewing my favorite eye brow pencil ~ Maxfactor Eye brow pencil in shade Ebony.
Price : Rs 220
What Maxfactor says about the product :
No make-up look is complete without neatly defined eyebrows; ask any make-up artist and they’ll tell you just how important it is. The secret is to make it look as natural as possible, which is why Max Factor Eyebrow Pencil is ideal. The brush applicator subtly grooms and perfectly defines your brows. Even over plucked brows will look naturally fuller and thicker!
Use it this way :
Such striking lashes look best with simple, groomed make-up – frame your face even more by defining and strengthening your brows with the softest shade of Brow Pencil you can wear. It’s all about the eyes!
My take on the product
I naturally have rather thick and full brows but there are a few small gaps in between that look gives an uneven look sometimes. I love clean defined brows and I used to use the brown eye shadow from the Maybelline chai latte quad as a brow fill till I stumbled upon this product. Maxfactor eye brow pencil comes in a navy wooden packaging and has a small brow grooming brush in the cap which is what makes this product so useful! It sharpens really smoothly with a regular shapener.
The texture of this pencil is soft but not too creamy and hence works really well. Eyebrow pencils ideally should be a little stiff in texture otherwise one ends up with too much product sticking to the brow hair which looks really untidy. It is decently pigmented and the slightly stiff texture ensures that one doesn’t end up with very dark *daaku* brows in a single swipe! I use very light pressure small strokes just to fill out the gaps in my brows and the result is even, dark brows that frame the face well. It isn’t waterproof but doesn’t create a mess when rubbed, rather it just becomes really weak in color. Its a little difficult to tell whether its still there or not as my brows are naturally full but when I remove my make up in the night, I do get the product on the cleanser soaked cotton so I can say that it stays put throughout the day. The little brush is really useful for brushing the brows into place.
The shade Ebony is a blackened taupe shade that is neither brown not quite black but a mixture of both with a bit grey thrown in. Its ideal for women with dark brown/black hair. I think it’d work well for most Indian women.
I think it is an excellent product and it has become a staple in my kit. The attached brush makes it ideal for travel as well as you don’t need to carry a separate brush along to tame your unruly brows. Highly recommended to everyone!
The GOOD about Maxfactor Eye brow pencil Ebony :
- Simple packaging, sharpens easily ; comes with a grooming brush
- Soft texture
- Has enough stiffness to ensure that too much product doesn’t get applied
- Stays on the entire day
- Doesn’t create a mess if rubbed accidentally
- The shade will suit all women with dark brown/black hair
- Easy on the pocket!
- Available online HERE
The NOT-SO-GOOD about Maxfactor Eye brow pencil Ebony :
- None!
Overall Verdict
Clean, groomed and defined brows go a long way in giving a polished look to the face and this Maxfactor eye brow pencil does its job excellently! It has a soft yet stiff texture that makes it easy to apply, it stays all day and doesn’t create a mess when rubbed. The best part is that it comes with a tiny grooming brush that is very useful when traveling. Ebony is a blackened taupe shade that’ll work well for all women with dark brown/black hair. I love this eye brow pencil and would recommend it to everyone!

Hi Ankita,
I recently bought this brow pencil after I read through your makeup breakdown in various reviews and saw that you used this brow pencil. I too have the same issue with my eyebrows – thick brows overall but to define the arch I use this pencil. I am quite happy with this product. It is a very good buy indeed
Thanks for your suggestion !
