Lakme Salon Time Restore Protein Hair Treatment Review

Lakme Salon Time Restore Protein Hair Treatment Review

Be Fussy Frizzy no more with the Time Restore Protein Treatment for your hair! As hair matures, vital keratin production in your hair subsides and they tend to become limp, brittle and coarse. This treatment activates the production of keratin which aids the hair to an optimum youthful composition. Replenish the lost protein in the hair with the New Amino Cell Rebuild Technology that stimulates hair roots and increases the keratin levels that bring back the life and sheen in your hair.

The Time Restore Protein Treatment repairs and revitalises hair roots and is a 30 minute service that involves a gentle hair wash, followed by a luxuriating head massage and deep conditioning. The entire treatment leaves one feeling pampered, relaxed and above all with lustrous hair.

My experience at Lakme Salon

I visited the Lakme Studio in Bandra (on Hill Road) for their Time Restore Protein Hair Treatment and it was a lovely experience! One is greeted with the colorful ambience of the Salon as one steps through the door. The staff is very courteous and I was offered water and iced tea as soon as I entered the Salon. After a 5 minute wait, I was led into the interior of the Salon where the hair treatments and styling is done. I was introduced to Bhavin who is a hair stylist at the Lakme Salon. Bhavin asked me about my hair type and what products I was using at present. He then explained in brief about the treatment I was to undergo that day and how it will help my dry, frizzy hair.

The hair treatment and styling area : My chair

At the outset, Bhavin told me that the Time Restore Protein Hair Treatment basically helps in replenishing the lost protein in the hair and even though I would feel a softness and smoothness in my hair after 1 sitting, a minimum of 6 sittings spaced over a few months is the ideal course of this treatment. He then introduced me to the Schwarzkopf Professional products he would use on my hair that day :

  1. Schwarzkopf Professional BC Bonacure hairtherapy : Time Restore Shampoo
  2. Schwarzkopf Professional BC Bonacure hairtherapy : Time Restore Satin Spray
  3. Schwarzkopf Professional BC Bonacure hairtherapy : Time Restore Treatment Mask
  4. Schwarzkopf Professional BC Bonacure hairtherapy : Time Restore Conditioner
  5. Schwarzkopf Professional Osis+ Magic Finish Light Control Serum

The Treatment :

The treatment began with a Hair wash with the Shampoo and warm water. The heat of the water opens up the cuticles of the hair and ensures that the hair is cleansed completely of all dirt, oil and grime. This was followed by a few spritzes of the Satin Spray to detangle the wet hair. Next, the hair was divided into sections and the Treatment Mask was generously applied all over the hair from root to tip. A wonderful 15 minute scalp massage followed next which was very relaxing. All along, Bhavin ensured I was comfortable – with the temperature of the warm water during the shampoo and with the pressure during the scalp massage. After the massage, steam was applied to the hair for 10 minutes to ensure penetration of the treatment into the hair. I was ready to nod off after the massage but a glossy magazine on my lap and a glass of chilled iced tea kept me up!

After the steam, the treatment was washed off with cold water. Cold water helps in sealing the cuticles which open up during the hot water wash and steam application. Next, the conditioner was applied to the length of my hair, massaged along the shaft for a few minutes and washed off with cold water. After towel drying my hair, Bhavin applied a few more spritzes of the Satin Spray and 1 pump of the Serum. He finished off the treatment by drying my hair partially using a hair dryer on how heat. Using too much heat is not advised as it lessens the efficacy of the treatment.

The Results :

Apart from the luxuriously pampering 40 minute experience itself, my hair feels much softer, smoother and has a natural lustre! It smells incredible too! The waves fall naturally and it has a really nice bounce and volume. There is no frizz, no dryness and no greasy afterfeel 2 days post the treatment. Sometimes, very hydrating products give a lovely frizz-free finish on the day of use but make the hair limp and greasy after 2 days. I had the treatment on Thursday and my hair feels the same smooth, bouncy self that it did 2 days back. I have dry, frizzy hair that gets unruly and does not retain the waves so this is like hair heaven for me!

Overall, it was a really nice experience and I love how my hair feels after the treatment! The treatment is priced at Rs 999+taxes and I think it is totally worth it! The salon has an inviting ambience, the staff is very considerate and the service itself was excellent.Ideally 6 sittings are needed to make a lasting difference to the hair but my hair feels great in a single sitting itself!  I would love to visit again and I’d recommend this treatment to everyone looking to revitalise their hair!

I loved Lakme until I met this stupid lady who was bad in everything she did, since then I stopped going to Lakme and became a member of Enrich and I am fairly happy with it!

I got this treatment done last month and my experience was not as fulfilling as yours :( I got it done at one of the newly opened Lakme outlets here in Pune. The stylist washed my hair with ice cold water :( :( which I just hate. I never wash my hair at home also with water such cold, I use luke warm water to wash my hair. I asked him if water this cold will remove dirt from my scalp as I had not washed for nearly 6 days before taking the treatment, he said yes :( :(
He applied the treatment mask. Gave a very brief massage for few seconds and started the steam. He left the steam on very high temperature and closed the door of the room and left. I could feel my scalp burning and it was unbearable, I had to shout for help and only then the temperature was lowered. He then asked me to wait for a minute so that the temperature of my hair cools down before we wash, but he came back in less than half minute saying wait time is over, lets wash your hair. Again with that ice cold water :( :(
He applied some spray and gave me a very brief blast dry, but the way he was doing blow dry, I could sense that he is not trained at this at all. My hair did not feel any better after the treatment, my hair are not frizzy, they are just moderately dry and unruly so the spa should have greatly nourished them, but that did not happen. Apart from the fact that my hair smelled great post the treatment, there was nothing that I liked about this treatment.

Really sorry to hear your experience Manisha. Please share your experience with Lakme Salon team, I’m sure they will look into it. My mum got this done at Bhopal and she was quite happy with the service. She is actually now getting this done every month and it has helped her hair a lot. It depends a lot on the person doing the treatment and looks like this guy did not do it well at all.
