My take on the product

Clinique Blended Face powder comes in a transparent jar packaging with a silvered screw on lid. The jar along with a retractable brush is housed in a small box which has the signature Clinique floral pattern on it. I love the packaging and the brush that comes along with it, even though not so soft, is quite handy and perfect for traveling. In fact, I carry the brush in my purse at all times and use it for touching up my compact when I’m out. The bristles are not very soft but the shape of the brush is great for applying blush as well. The jar itself comes with a sifter for controlled application of the product. The holes are large enough to allow enough product to come through yet not so large that too much product comes out. The only thing I do not like this (and loose powders in general) is that some of the product deposits along the rim and into the treads of the screw on lid which makes the whole thing a bit messy.

The powder itself is very finely milled and blends into the skin very easily. It has no fragrance, is allergy tested and would suit sensitive skin types as well. The coverage is sheer and it would not cover up marks or pigmentation of any kind but it does give the face a neat, even toned look after application. It has a matte finish but does not look cakey even if you end up applying a bit extra. It feels very light, almost weightless on the skin. I love the smooth texture, blendability and finish of this powder but I wish it controlled oil longer. I get typically 3.5 hours, at best 4 hours of oil control with this. My skin is super oily during the extreme summer months(read 45 deg Indian Summer) and I definitely need a touch up on my T-zone 4 hours after application. However, it works magnificently for the rest of the year when my skin is not at its oiliest worst.

It comes in 6 shades according to the US website but I have seen only 3 or 4 shades at the Clinique counters in India. The shade Transparency 3 suits my skin tone perfectly. Its not really a transparent powder but it has an almost invisible, weightless finish on the skin. Check out all shades HERE.

The GOOD about Clinique Blended Face Powder :

  1. Good packaging, comes with a retractable brush for application
  2. Finely milled powder
  3. Blends easily onto the skin
  4. Gives an even tone and natural matte finish
  5. Does not give a cakey or dry appearance to the skin
  6. Light coverage, weightless feel
  7. Large quantity – will last a long time
  8. Good Oil control (except for very oily skin in extreme summer)
  9. Allergy Tested
  10. Did not irritate my breakouts or cause any reaction with my skin
  11. Fragrance free

The NOT-SO-GOOD about Clinique Blended Face Powder :

  1. Expensive ( huge difference between India and US pricing)
  2. Super oily skin would need touch up after 3-3.5 hours during the summers

Overall Verdict

Overall, the Clinique Blended Face Powder is an excellent product – the powder quality is top notch, it is finely milled and blends easily onto the skin. It has a sheer coverage and a natural matte finish that gives an even, neat look to the face. It did not irritate my breakouts or cause any reaction on my skin. The quantity provided is a whopping 35 gm which will last me about 8-9 months to say the least. It gives good oil control as well except in the extreme summer months when I need a touch up after 3.5-4 hours post application. The retractable brush is an added bonus which is great for touch ups and sleek, small  and sturdy enough to be carried around in one’s handbag.

The only disheartening thing is the difference in the US and India price (just like the Kiehl’s Solution I reviewed HERE) ~ it costs almost double the US price in India!

Rating : 4.25/5

  3. I think for a clinique product the price is good and quantity is huge too! will check this out! You have idea about any loose powder thats hydrating and good for dry skin people???

  4. The retractable brush is adorable! A lot of loose powders come with a puff instead and i feel it defeats the purpose. Sooo wanna get my hands on that teeny brush 🙂

    1. Hi Reena, it is likely you are using a foundation or cream that is clogging your pores. What are you using currently?

  5. Love this powder. Have been using it for more than a year n half n still have half the box left. Don’t like the brush tho…it sheds worse than a woman’s hairfall post delivery!!! I use an Elizabeth Arden Kabuki brush to apply this.
