Hey everyone!
Today I’m doing a tutorial for the Smokey Golden Olive look I had posted a few days back. Many of you had requested the tutorial, hope you find it useful!
Products used :
- Bobbi Brown Long wear gel liner : Caviar Ink (as base and as liner+kohl)
- Coastal Scents eye shadow : Mojito Mint (all over lid)
- Make Up For Ever eye shadow : no. 84 (crease and outer corner)
- Marie Clair white gold eye shadow (highlighter)
- Motives Mascara
- Brushes
Step 1 : Start by applying a brown/black base over lid.
I have used Bobbi Brown gel liner in Caviar Ink for this step, applied using the The Body Shop mineral eye shadow brush which is flat and stiff and hence good for applying cream based products. Since I did not want a very stark black base, I have not used MAC Smolder eye kohl which is generally my go-to base while doing a smokey eye.
Start applying closest to the lash line and then sweep the brush outwards and upwards. This way the color intensity will naturally come out darkest closest to the lash line and softer away from it.
Step 2 : Apply a blackened olive green eye shadow in the crease
I have used MUFE eye shadow no. 84.
Step 3 : Apply a golden-olive eye shadow all over lid
I have used Coastal Scents eye shadow (sample) in shade Mojito Mint.
Step 4 : Blend the shades together, add more darkened olive in the crease and blend
I have used MAC 217 brush for blending, its one of my favorite brushes!
Step 5 : Apply a gold based eye shadow in the inner corner and crease.
I have used Marie Claire eye shadow in the shade no. 0231. Its a white gold shade and goes wonderfully with green/olive eye shadows as highlighter.
Step 6: Line eyes with brownish black gel liner, add the remaining product on the brush to the waterline
I have not applied the eye shadow to the lower lash line to keep the look softer.
Step 7 : Finish off with mascara
I have used Motives Mascara.
Pair this eye makeup with a warm coral/peach blush and an earthy coral lipstick.
You can see the breakdown of the lip/cheek makeup HERE.
